6. His mom doesn't know
She says there will be an autopsy. :-( It was very sudden. Sounds like a stroke, heart attack, or aneurysm though.

12. It's a shock
My husband came into the room to tell me, and I rushed to the computer hoping it wasn't so. Thinking there must be some mistake. But, it's not  I remember the old chats, too.

15. I was asked if I was really upset
(in a nice, caring way...not sarcastic)

You all were my first "internet" friends---Kheph WAS democraticunderground.com....just like Rox, dmr, NSMA, Zomby, you, Laz and Haele---the list is long.

It's just too sad to think about right now.

17. He really was.
Scott was DU. He contributed so much here, but more than that, he was just a good person. I deeply regret that I never got the chance to meet him in person, but this moment shows me how much all of you here mean to me. Like rbnyc said, I wish we could all be together now, in person.

OMG!!! Look at how many of his threads are still living on there even NOW!
What a loss! I am nearly at tears for the 2nd time this week, after Thursday's statement protesting Ohio!!!
Goddammit, another shitty thing Bush has indirectly caused!

18. He really WAS one of the first for DU in a lot of ways.
He was one of the first to do the AIM thing in the old days and he was one of the first to go to a gathering.

It's funny, I was just talking about the early days just recently. I was talking about talking to Mr. Pitt and Kef both on AIM. Shoot, all you guys were there! Midori, Enki, Opi, Laz, Haele, Dawn and Kevin, Roni--so many of the old timers and too many to list here... Dang.

I am cried out.

I had gotten to know him better. From the many posts I've been reading, he was a great man and a great advocate for democracy.

21. I'm sick about it
I had worried about him and even thought of PMing him to tell him to take care of himself, don't let what happened to my brother happen to him. That was just a couple weeks ago. :(

24. I keep flipping through the forums. Part of me is looking for him
Part of me knows I won't see his name next to "posted by" anymore.

Back in the early days, "Posted by:Khephra" was the definitive word in LBN. None could touch him. Time went by and you could still rely on Khephra to be the man who found the news.

I know Kheph posted in other forums but for me, Kheph will always be the "news." If anyone knew, Kheph knew.

DU has lost more than just a member, with Khephra goes the passing of an era.
