1. This wasn't part of the original plan. |

But I noticed that the distribution of votes in the first one seem to hold at a certain ratio, and wondered if it was in line with gender.

9. I guess it doesn't divide along gender after all. |

2. She was in the will - I think she deserved it |

I don't even think it's all that sleazy or anything, either.

4. He MARRIED her. Maybe it was a poor choice, maybe not. |
|
But it was his decision, and she was his WIFE. So much for Texas justice.
And we're supposed to believe it's the gays who are threatening the institution of marriage?

5. He wanted her to have it, so she should. |
|
Is she stupid? Appears so.
Did she have to work for that money? Apparently not.
But if the guy wanted to marry her and not change his will/get a prenup/whatever, it's her money fair and square.
Wasn't the son adequately provided for? Does he really *need* 89 million dollars?

I don't think the old man was senile.
Sometimes in life you become closer to people outside your biological family.
I don't think the son has any "special rights" just because he is blood.

7. I always hate to admit this |
|
but I watched every episode of her show the first time and I HATE reality TV.
Her show was like a freaking train wreck, though. She did things like, when shopping for a new house, she got into the dry tub, fully clothed and simulated masturbating.
She tried to crawl under a sofa table and her butt got stuck.
She put a quarter between Kimmy's boobs and made her give her a horsie ride on her knee. In a STORE.
She once wore a little belly-baring shirt into a coffee shop, saw some lollipops, and started squealing and jumping up and down, demanding candy.
She went on a blind date, she insisted he stop the limo at a convenience store because she really needed a jar of pickles, then they went to a VERY fancy steakhouse and she got this massively expensive steak and asked for A-1 sauce. The maitre d' or someone actually came to their table and explained, in a pained way, that they didn't have A-1 sauce. She threw such a fit, they sent out for some.
I mean, come on, how can you NOT watch that shit? It ALWAYS made me feel better about my own life.
I don't like the thin Anna as much, but I might give it a chance. I'll have my friend Tivo it.

8. I wonder about expensive steakhouses. |
|
Steaks can be expensive, but there's still a ceiling on the price, and there's only so much a steak can be well-marbled or whatever makes one better than the other. Add some spices for seasoning and that's pretty much it. So then you have to wonder why there's such huge stratification between steakhouses. We have Lawry's Prime Rib here and that's supposed to be all nice - now don't they just use plain-old Lawry's seasoning on it?

10. It was a Japanese steakhouse |
|
On top of the New Otani in Little Tokyo. Really pretty garden. I wouldn't really expect a Japanese steakhouse to have A1 sauce.

|
OH SHIT! See I thought it was an American steakhouse that was just snobby enough (though I don't use "snobby" derisively here as I refuse to put steak sauce on my steaks as well).
And yeah now that I think about it, you would pay something for ambience and presentation in a Japanese restaurant.

I remember now it was a Japanese steakhouse. It was downright embarrassing the way she insisted on A-1 sauce.
I turned to my husband and said "Damn, you can take the girl out of Mexia, but you can't take the Mexia out of the girl."
He said "Can I say the same about you and Dallas?" and I punched him. Not hard.

more Anna Nicole wonderful moments:
She tried to get her driver's license and TOTALLY fucked up.
Oh! Oh! How could I forget the scary cousin from Mexia??? The one who was missing a lot of teeth and really freaky? Remember her?

I couldn't either! I mean, in person, I wouldn't have been able to stand the cousin (or probably Anna for that matter) for more than a few hours, but damn if I didn't watch it every time it was on and caught the repeats too.
I could do a DEAD on Anna impersonation:
"SUGAH PIE!!! SUGAH PIE!!! STOP IT!!! I want some pickles."
Of course you have to use an affected high voice, slur a lot, etc.

Some of the people who think she deserves the money are emphatic enough about it that they posted replies, but none of the people who think she doesn't deserve it have!

... she deserves it, it is a matter of whether she is lawfully entitled to it.
IMHO, she is.

19. she is the wife period end of sentence |
|
Once we get into taking inheritance rights away from SPOUSES, we have no social contract at all for anyone except the very richest and most powerful. She was the wife. Like her or loathe her, it should be her money without question. There shouldn't even be a QUESTION that a fully adult MIDDLE-AGED child should get the money ahead of a spouse.
