I just wanted to start a thread about Kef too, just so he knows that though we were not close, I am thinking of him. <3

Anybody who thinks one can't cry over somebody they don't even know... big myth. Maybe I'm just an emotional person, but I was bawling my eyes out!

But nobody really goes into them anymore. I remember when Kef would come in, he absolutely dominated the conversations about current events and politics.

Please send this to Will - who is in contact with, and can thus send it on to Scott's (Keph's) mother. When you do send it on, please add a note and perhaps state your age... as it let's his Mom know the effect that his efforts, grace and presence had on another person - one who is just getting started in her adult life.

I am just dumbfounded by this news. I just don't want to believe that Keph is not still with us.

that is beautiful. Yes, one can be very upset and cry over someone you really did not know well. My husband thinks I am a bit odd tonight being so upset over this but I am and will be for some time. I did not know Keph well at all but could tell from reading his thoughts for all these years what a wonderful person he was. May he be at peace.

11. Keph will always have a home in many of our hearts.

I only knew him from his posts on DU and PM's with him, but he was in many ways the soul of DU to me. We've lost alot with his passing. I will always smile when I think of him. Although I know he had alot of saddness in his life and some disabilities, he found a working home here on DU where he provided the most and best articles from combing newspapers here and around the world to keep us informed. I don't think anyone will be able to replace him. He kept many of us balanced through some very bad times.

Keph had running threads on Senate and House hearings on Iraq Resolution and was here on 9/11 (I believe he was the first who reported that awful morning). He worked tirelessly to keep us informed and on track. He was very kind to me when I got down during the build up to Iraq Invasion and the Campaign Primaries.

I will miss him here, terribly. And I give his Momma Keph a :grouphug: because I know how much he loved her. He often mentioned her and I felt I knew her from his little anecdotes.

Farewell Keph...and I know if there's a computer in that Big Sky you are up there working on it. Your spirit will always be here and in our hearts. :loveya: Keph (Scott).....and my :hi: to ya...

All of you... I appreciate you, and I love you.

I could not imagine getting through the last nearly 4 years without you, and the next 4 either. Without Keph, it's going to be a heavier, sadder ride, indeed.

But the ride will still have a bright path to follow with a fine mind and golden heart like yours, Maggie.
