I just gave my puppy a bath.
Usually I just throw him in the shower with me, and have since he got too big for the kitchen sink. Tonight was his first bath "alone" - the regular way, in the bathtub, filled with water.

He was facinated by the water filling up the tub - very excited. I finally told him to "get in" when it was full enough, and to my suprise he lept into the tub immediately. Not a small feat, considering I have a claw foot tub so it's high off the ground.

I changed my shirt afterwards as the front of me was sopping wet.

The cats watched warily from afar, afraid their fate may hold baths in their future...

My house makes a complete circle when both bathroom doors are open and as I type my puppy (Bodhi) is racing around the house like it's a greyhound track. I can hear him screeching out in the kitchen and crashing into things. Moments later he races past me, then he's gone with more sounds of screeching and crashing in the background.

Critters. They are soooooo funny.

4. *L* That's how I ended up looking like I'd been
in a wet t-shirt contest. He kept shaking when I was trying to wash him - water spray EVERYWHERE. I haven't gotten around to cleaning the bathroom in a couple of weeks although I have washed the bathroom rugs, so I figured now was a good time to thrash it.

A bath was a no brainer when I let him out of his crate after coming home from work and watched him piss all over his front leg and foot while doing his business in the yard.

He sleeps with me so ummm... yeah. New down comforter is already sporting a lovely smattering of dog hair - I didn't want what ELSE he was going to end up bringing to bed tonight... :) Dried, or not.

6. My dog sleeps with us too
She's not a big dog.....and she curls up at the foot of the bed. I know what you mean about the dog hair....I'm always using my little sharp hand vac to sweep it up. I don't like it,but I have to put up with it cuz no way would I get rid of my Buffy.:+

8. Funny, when I wake up in the morning the first thing I see
is usually my puppy's face with his nose a few inches from mine, or the back of his head. *L* He's a "people" - head on the pillows and all.

I'm an animal lover, period, but have never really considered myself a "dog" person. I love them, but seem to be best suited for other critters - at least at this point in my life. I didn't *want* a dog - I'm a renter with TOO MUCH in her life between housework (huge house), yard work, a gazillion other animals, and a fulltime-plus job.

But (you knew that was coming, didn't you?) when someone I know found a litter of 10 puppies abandoned in a tiny cardboard box and at the end of the day only Bodhi was left, alone, scared, and crying I said I'd take him home for the NIGHT (he was in my office building) and bring him back in the morning. Well- he cried all night and had nightmares, but by morning was absolutely content. No more crying, nothing. He was sooo happy. I didn't have the heart to return him to an uncertain future. Just call me "drug kicking and screaming back into 'dog lover'" I've had him now since January.

At the time, I already had 3 ferrets, 5 rats, 3 cats, 2 hamsters, and 3 sugar gliders. That's FIVE cages to be cleaned every week, and a total pain. Since his arrival I have lost both hamsters and a rat which takes me down to 3 cages and is a *little* better. Bodhi LOVES all of the animals, of course - I don't think the feeling is mutual ;-)

Anyway - here's a Bodhi pic from springtime...

2. LOL!
My dog does the same thing, going nuts after a bath, hehe! Hilarious!

And my mom's tiny mini-dashsaund goes crazy, rolling around on the ground and spinning in circles, as if to say "Look how pretty and clean I am! Look at me! Look at me!!"

hehe..

3. I love the image of the cats
huddled warily in the background.

Dogs and cats are both wonderful creatures. We humans hardly deserve them. They are so loyal, kind, affectionate, and trusting of us.

5. I haven't given the kitties a bath in a long while -
But they REMEMBER! They're overdue for that torturous ordeal.

I have 3, and I start with the littlest cat (Neshameh, F) then the medium cat (Iago, M), then the biggest and most cantankerous cat (Othello, M).

By the time it's Othello's turn, I always have to go find him. *L* He waits until I'm about done with the second kitty and disappears himself.

Funny thing - the little girl cat cries the whole time she's being bathed and it sounds JUST like she's crying "Nooooooooo! Mama! SToooooop! Mama! NOoooooooooooOOOOOOooooo" Kinda freaky!

7. The Cats Are Probably Thinking
We know she's crazy, but we will just have to humor her again.
