Shotenheimer:"The outcome of the game was in the Lords hands".
Did any San Diego Duers catch Marty's CH 10 post game interview? Blaming the loss on Jesus' decision.

No Marty, you chose to play too conservatively and run the ball to LT up the middle on 3 consecutive plays for virtually no gain, not getting the ball close enough for your rookie kicker to win a game you should have won. The Jets defense and Herman Edwards knew exactly what you were going to fucking do.

Jesus had nothing toi do with it Marty! YOU FUCKED UP!

GEESH!

4. The Jets gave that game to the Chargers! Gave them a fucking gift!
And Marty threw it away!
I hope they fire him on Monday.

2. Right before that missed field goal...

ABC panned over and showed a shot of the Chargers' little "prayer group".. and I turned to my neighbor and said "Dear Jeezus, I know you're kinda busy with the tsunami and all, but please take a moment to help him make this.." and people wonder why some folk think religious zealots are nuts.

7. I still like Yogi Berra's answer
He was playing catcher, and the batter came up and drew a cross in the dirt. Yogi reached over and wiped it away. He said: "Why don't we just let God enjoy the game?"

13. it would have been great if he had actually run ladanian up the middle..
but instead, they decided to put the ball on the right hash. Nate had plenty of leg, he just pushed it.

And Marty claiming the game was in the Lord's hands was easily the stupidest thing I heard all night, which is saying a lot considering 7 hours of having to listen to Joe Theisman, Al Michaels, and John Madden. After a night of muttering a few mild oaths, I dropped a very loud FUCK YOU on Marty for that.
