I was also suprised by a post forwarded to me in which another poster had accused me of being a Freeper and calling me obscene names.

I have been called one of the most passionate believers in liberalism in existence. I also view myself that way.

Thanks for your time in reading this post. I just wanted to let you know that I figured out the email and that, from the bottom of my heart, I am a liberal. Paul Wellstone was my idea of a true liberal.

2. Written communication doesn't always convey intended meaning

Whoever wrote you may have just been paranoid and misinterpreted something you had posted. Whatever the reason, they had no business doing that. I know how it feels to get a nasty e-mail like that - it's like getting your house broken into, it makes you feel violated. Congrats on figuring out the e-mail, though.

5. If I read the rules right people are supposed to hit the alert button

for questionable posts and not accuse each other of being freepers but I could be wrong since the remarks about people being freepers seems to come up all the time. With the alert button I think the Admin guys are supposed to check it out. Also you might check out the note that the Admin guys put up about stopping calling people out. Welcome to DU.

because I'm kind of new myself and don't know how all of this works, but how do you as new person have 1000+ posts beside your name?
