Can anyone advise me on career opportunities for someone with an MPH?

My husband said one of our friends in Dallas is interested in pursuing a Masters in Public Health. She's Pakistani, and I believe she already has a medical degree from Pakistan, but has been raising young children. My husband seems to think I can help her, but I know next to nothing about MPH. Does anyone have one, and can you tell me anything about the job market for them? Thanks!

1. Well, she could work for the public health department of any county, OR

for a state health department.

2. With MPH she may be able to find

a job in clinical research in academic medicine- As study coordinator, monitor. OR perhaps as assitant to epidemiologist, for example.

Overall, this degree can be too generic in some ways- unless she comes with expertise in a given area already- such as nursing, nutrition, or statistics.

Sort of like having an MBA in that way.
