Anybody watch "Boston Legal" tonight? |
|
That show just keeps getting better and better.
Spader's punchline in the opening scene was one of the funniest things I've ever heard on television.

At least on the scene to which I refer.
It opens with Alan Shore standing at the men's room urinal and Shirley Schmidt (Candice Bergen) walking in to inspect it. She claims she wants to check it out since, because she's a partner, she needs to know everything about the place.
Alan zips up and offers his hand and Shirley says something like, "I'm not shaking that hand...you haven't washed up yet."
So Alan says..."I keep a very, very clean penis."
So that's how it starts. There was some really great stuff about the atrocities in the Sudan and about the firm taking on a client who wants to sue the US Government. Also...Denny is irked by Shirley's presence because "She's a Liberal!".
All in all, great episode.

12. I have to admit. I was a loyal follower of the practice |
|
and was kinda unhappy when they brought James Spader last year to save it. It was good, but not the same program.
So I was not watching Boston Legal last year. I watch American Dreams and Desperate Housewives and watching Boston Legal would make it a solid evening in front of the TV. But when I heard that "Murphy Brown" was joining - I could not resist. And, really, she is basically the same character.
What I have always liked about Kelley, when he stuck with legal issues and left the soaps alone - in Picket Fences and the Practice and, yes, even Ally McBeal - is the interesting interpretation of the law. And the way the deiced to sue the U.S. government because of the atrocities in the Sudan was really intriguing. OK, I have no legal knowledge so I don't know how much Kelly is stretching it but still interesting.
As for Denny irked by Schmidt, it was funny that he claimed that she was "Bush bashing" just because she was a liberal.
And the scene in the men's room that you described had its second bookend in the last scene, when Schmidt to a box with a car side view mirror with the words: items that appear in the mirror may be larger than you see... (or something like that)
Really great program.

Attorney Alan Shore (James Spader)? I want him:evilgrin:
And how can you not love the self adoring "DENNY CRANE" (Captain Kirk;-) ) character :-)
'By the way, my fixtures are available anytime for any further inspections' BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Alan Shore is so naughty :9
Candice did an excellent job on the show tonight as well. It's always nice to see her.

I caught it for the first time ever. I used to watch The practice but I didn't like Bobby & Lyndsey so I lost interest. I wasn't watching by the time Spader came on.
After Desparate Housewives tonight (BE QUIET! DON'T MOCK!! IT ISN'T MY FAULT!!! I didnt mean to like that damn show!) I couldn't find the remote so I ended up seeing the opening scene in the bathroom and was hooked. As soon as he said he kept a very clean penis I was rolling.
Anyway, the show was great! I'll be adding that to my list of things to watch.

It sounds great. You can't go wrong with James Spader and William Shatner.

11. Yeah, it was good tonight. |

I shouldn't have watched it because I had other things to get done before I could get to bed, which as you see I haven't done yet, but I couldn't reist tonight's episode. That line was great!
