If you watch "Desperate Housewives" (and ready to admit it) |
|
was really funny tonight. The Gaby character got a job wearing an evening dress promoting a Buick Lacrosse in a mall (and being humiliated) Next, cut to the next commercial where... a model in evening dress promoting Buick LaCrosse...

I do have this vague worry that it's a "stealth soap", but it's quite engaging.

... I've seen every episode.
I agree it has "soap opera" qualities - but then so does almost every drama on TV.
Here's my definition of soap opera, and when I tune out. When the same people get into the same jams over and over - that's it for me.
I doubt DH will ever do that. I like DH because it is funny, and the characters do stupid and evil things and there are consequences but not necessarily the ones you would expect. :)

5. Tentatively raising hand.... |
|
UK Channel 4 broadcast the first episode last week, and I thought it was really good, in a strange sort of way. I think I'll be watching it.
Not being familiar with the show, apart from a couple of quick Google searches this week, can I ask a question here without hijacking the thread too badly? (Gonna do it anyway, but thought I'd at least pretend to be polite about it!) O8)
Right... is it just me, or does Wisteria Lane look like it should be just off Main Street in Celebration, Florida? (Or am I missing the point that this is, indeed, the whole point?)

8. Filmed in a studio in LA |

but many concluded that the house where the narrator committed suicide is the same that was used in the 50s for "leave it to Beaver" - I think.

I think they're repeating it tomorrow night. I'll have to watch it and see if I recognize anything from the house - assuming I can remember anything about Leave it to Beaver, that is.....

Sometimes it's tough watching Teri Hatcher try to act, but I've always liked Marcia Cross

7. I'm pissed that it beat Lost for best new series or drama or whatever |
|
did Lost win anything last night?
I just can't believe that that show could possibly be better than Lost, even if the last episode was the worst one so far, every other episode has ruled.
Despite the fact that i haven't watched more than 2 minutes of Desperate Housewives, it just seems so dumb. I know I'm judging a book by it's cover but even when hot chicks can't get me to desire to scope a show I just think it must suck. Hot chicks even get me to occasionally stomach "The OC" for a few minutes every now and then and that's the dumbest show on TV.

9. Are you talking about the "people's choice' |
|
this is as relevant as "American idol." You do not have peers judging a product - movie or actor - on the merit. This is just who can punch the most key strokes on a phone or on a computer.
(and even heard complaining that F9/11 won because of campaigns - can they possibly refer to DU? - of Internet voting)

It's got some of the best writing network TV's seen in years. Never fails to make me LOL.
