Well Heck..guess I have to a doctor... |
|
Thanks for your advice guys. I hate going to the doctor ESPECIALLY without insurance. BLEH! Tomorrow- first thing, promise. I still have some of the anti-biotic they gave me the last time I had to break up the dog-I got bit then too... Even so- I LOVE my Jindo.99.9% of the time.
Any other DUers own the breed? They are GREAT dogs, except in these situations... BHN

13. SO sorry...I went through that about three years ago... |
|
I had another Jindo that died of cancer- it was horrible to go through. You might enjoy a Jindo- they are the closest thing to owning a wolf that you can do legally. NSMA met her and understood her immediately- She is ancient canine blood, like your samoyed wolf. Look up "jindo" and"kang" on the web if you would like to learnabout them. I will ALWAYS own one if I have any say in the matter. They are not for everyone, but if you have owned a dog with wolf breeding, you would LOVE a Jindo! BHN

14. nice. I have a feeling that after Alinak passes, we're going to |
|
be dogless for quite a while, even though we love them. Too much we have to do, that we can't do while having them.

4. Naw...just a very guilty dog... |
|
She has been slinking around all day...she feels really bad about it. I am taking the antibiotic, so no fever, just massive swelling and stiffness- hell for a guitar player, as you know- losing the chording hand. And yes, you were right, I have to go to the doctor. Damn, must you always be right? lol, BHN

last time for the same thing and it hasn't expired.... I don't know I'd probably do exactly what you did. I'd clean out the bite really well and put some neosporin or something on it in addition. I'm in the same position no health insurance. Last week I cut myself and needed stitches but I couldn't afford to go...so I suffered through. Yeah...it sucks!

5. Yip, same one, hasn't expired. |

The insurance thing is a BITCH! We will be reinstated in tow months or so- our coverage is based on union hours and we did not have enough this renewal...so I said, screw it, we'll be fine for two months, and now THIS! I had a cat bite once too, that was FAR worse and landed me in the emergency room. I prefer the dog bite actually. LOL BHN

12. Yip, the kitties can be lethal! |
|
When this feral cat that I had been feeding bit me, I got SO sick, SO fast that I had to call a friend to drive me to the hospital- aparently cats have some real nasty stuff in their saliva, helps them in their hunting kills I guess. Anyhoo, I don't EVER want to go through THAT again! BHN

6. At risk of getting this shut down |
|
Get your wound checked out. Long story short, my husband got nipped by a hotel owner's dog, we had 2 weeks to go in Dominican Republic, beautiful place. He spent a week in the hospital after we got home on major IV's, almost lost his finger/hand. Five surgeries later, and about $50,000. Thank goodness we had insurance. Not a thing to mess around with.

11. Yes, if you are infected, go |
|
to a doc sooner than later. My hub is okay now, but you wouldn't even believe what a pinch in his skin by a dog in the DR did to him. Beware of animals you are not familiar with. They could wreck your life. And as a dog lover, that's a sad statement for moi.

15. BHN, you should always finish up your anti-biotics... |
|
and not have leftovers. Talk to your doc about this.

Went to the doctor and sho 'nuff- I got the same anti biotic and the stern lecture about finishing the dose. BHN sheepishly shuffles off to bed... (I really DON'T like going to doctors though with or without insurance.) BHN
