The Jason Alexander / Malcolm-Jamal Warner pity thread.
They were absolutely humorless on the People's Choice Awards.

Each of them had a prominent role in a seminal television series.

And now they have come to this. And an unfunny series.

Of course, they both have WAY much more money than I do, so never mind.

1. I loved George Costanza
I think Alexander is a very talented actor. Unfortunately, he's been saddled with a series of very poor projects (Bob Patterson, Listen Up!) He still has a future but should stay away from mediocre network sitcoms.

2. TSIAS me too! And Alexander supported Kerry
So did Jerry and the rest. Another reason I love watching that show!

6. I know
Someday I should post the picture of me with Julia Louis Dreyfus taken at Kerry headquarters just before the election. She was active that final week in trying to mobilize the female vote for Kerry.

5. I think Jason is good too
I saw him in some pretty old movie; was it Pretty Woman? Just saw it the other day. I think that was the movie... didn't realize he was in that. And he looked just the same, except he had more hair.

3. Does "pity" mean that we have to be nice?
I saw the first few minutes of the awards as I was leaving a friend's house. They really sucked.

7. it's the reverse of...
There was a sitcom about 10 years ago about Dave Barry. I thought the show was pretty funny. But I've never thougt Dave Barry was very funny. I wrote similar stuff in junior high.

But I forgot how!

14. Dave's World
I liked Dave's World because the actors worked beautifully as an ensemble team. It was funny, it had spirit and it sparkled in a way that most tiredly plotted sitcoms don't anymore.

13. I agree
Listen Up is SO awful I'd rather be watching Yes, Dear which was pretty horrible as well. At least a couple of the characters on Yes Dear had some good moments, but Listen Up is just.....bad.

On the other hand, I must admit that without a doubt, I LOVE Two and a Half Men. (Yes, off-topic, but I wanted to get that in!)

15. Alexander is SO funny, but not in the "I should host a show" way of funny
I can't believe they asked him to do it. I never would have asked him to host any kindo of awards show, as much as I love his comic delivery.

Warner - I don't know. Apart from his stint on Cosby, I had no idea he was still "acting" and was quite surprised to see him as the co-host when I saw the ad for it last week (and saw Alexander on the Late Late Show).

17. I know what you mean
Warner doesn't have any apparent talent at all. He's riding, IMO, the laurels of the Cosby show. He should take diction lessons, and get a new barber. :)
