Got married in Vegas? If so, where?
I could've tried turning this into a poll on wedding chapels in Las Vegas, but there's so many that I'd leave way too many important ones out.

OK, I'll start. ginbarn and I got married on April Fool's Day, 2000, at Little Chapel of the Flowers. Yep, that's the same place where Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra tied their short-lived knot. We chose Little Chapel partially because in was the only chapel in Vegas to broadcast weddings over the Internet, thus saving our folks from having to buy plane tickets en masse to come and see the proceedings. And the grounds LC is located on are really nice. The Rev. Gary Shroyer and his staff will work with you on requests; just ask.

You weren't too far away from our chapel, I think...

2. I don't plan on getting married again, at least not in this life.
But if I did, I'd definitely consider a Vegas wedding, officiated by an Elvis impersonator. And I'm completely serious when I say that.

It appeals to my peculiar sense of humor, and I've already done the solemn church-wedding thing. As long as Rev. Presley didn't burst into "Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love" after we were pronounced husband and wife, I could deal with it!

4. a drive up window-- I don't remember the chapel's name...
...but the minister interrupted the ceremony to chide my ex for giggling. We bought ourselves wedding presents in a souvenir shop on the strip-- I still have the bright red fuzzy dice around here somewhere but I think she broke the gold colored champaigne glasses with "Las Vegas" stenciled on them. All in all it didn't work out well, and we're divorced now.

5. Chapel By The Courthouse
on a hot August Friday morning. The power was out, the minister was late, and they performed the ceremony for free! We had been camping out in the desert the previous week and were fried. We celebrated by going to Starbucks and beginning the long, two-day drive back to Michigan.

6. Ha Ha I got married in Vegas way back in 1980. No chapel though
We married in the Justice's Office. 20 bucks for a license, 20 bucks for him the JP, all dressed up in our cut off shorts, tee-shirts and flipflops. ;-) It was great :-)

Quick, simple, no meddling relatives, and it was cheap ;-)

treated uslike royalty. Our families met in a conference room where we work and one of the IT guys had a party for them. They got to see the whole thing. Me on my wedding day...

Oh, and someone last week asked if anyone looked cute in overalls.
I just found the picture. What do you think? Yeah, I nabbed a chicken.

10. We got married at the chapel
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 12:32 PM by tanyev
in the Excalibur hotel. It was very nice but we passed on renting medieval costumes to get married in. I just wore a nice dress and mr. tanyev wore a suit. I recommend Vegas to anyone I find out is getting married. We can't wait to get back there for a vacation.
