Beware Of Darkness/Give me Love - Can't get these out of my head |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 05:18 PM by Bonhomme Richard
Beware Of Darkness
Watch out now, take care Beware of falling swingers Dropping all around you The pain that often mingles In your fingertips Beware of darkness
Watch out now, take care Beware of the thoughts that linger Winding up inside your head The hopelessness around you In the dead of night Beware of sadness
It can hit you It can hurt you Make you sore and what is more That is not what you are here for
Watch out now, take care Beware of soft shoe shufflers Dancing down the sidewalks As each unconscious sufferer Wanders aimlessly Beware of Maya
Watch out now, take care Beware of greedy leaders They take you where you should not go While Weeping Atlas Cedars They just want to grow, grow and grow Beware of darkness (beware of darkness)
Give Me Love
Give me love Give me love Give me peace on earth Give me light Give me life Keep me free from birth Give me hope Help me cope, with this heavy load Trying to, touch and reach you with, heart and soul
OM M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M My Lord . . .
PLEASE take hold of my hand, that I might understand you
Won't you please Oh won't you
Give me love Give me love Give me peace on earth Give me light Give me life Keep me free from birth Give me hope Help me cope, with this heavy load Trying to, touch and reach you with, heart and soul
OM M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M M My Lord . . .
PLEASE take hold of my hand, that I might understand you
George Harrison

man, that whole All Things Must Pass stuff blew me away ...
way back in 1973, a friend showed me how to make my own candles ... i had melted some wax in a sauce pan and there was a 1/8 inch thick layer that i accidently left in the bottom of the pan ... when it cooled, i her a perfect "wax record" ... i cut out a round label for it and wrote "All Things Must Pass" on it ... punched a couple of holes, put a string through it and hung it on the wall ... the next summer, the room got very badly overheated and the thing just dripped down the wall ... kinda eerie :scared: ... just a little memory from a long time ago ...
i really miss Harrison ... btw, if you've never listened to the jam on side 6 of the triple album, the song "Thanks for the Pepperoni" is incredible ... most people are more familiar with the songs with lyrics ...

It blew me away and I can't get enough of Harrisons music. The group of guys I play with have been playing a lot of the stuff off the DVD. Wonderful music and enlightening lyrics.

when the local PBS stations do their fundraising events, they often show a concert that's called something like "Carl Perkins and Friends" ... Perkins is the guy who first recorded "Blue Suede Shoes" although most people are more familiar with the version Elvis did ...
anyway, if you get a chance to see it, it's great ... playing along with Perkins are: Harrison, Ringo, Clapton, Rosanne Cash and a few other big people ... really great music ... it was Harrison's return performance after he hadn't played publically for about 10 years ...
also, on the Bob Dylan anniversay concert, Harrison did an incredible version of "Absolutely Sweet Marie" ... one of my favorites ... and of course, there's always the Travelling Wilburys ... i was just thinking the other day that we've lost Roy Orbison and Harrison, both of whom were in that band ...
