Have any wierd relatives?

I have an uncle who I love dearly. But he has an extremely odd quirk. He always talks about extremely practical stuff. He is a scientist, I suppose thats his excuse, but every time I visit him and the family in Birmingham (England, not Alabama), I somehow always end up talking about how to fix this or that, and most recently when I visited him for christmas, he talked to me about a problem he's having w/ rising damp in the wall of his new cottage for about 5 hours. I don't think I've ever been so bored outside of math class. I love him, but I don't think I've ever in 15 years had a single abstract conversation with him!


Anyway, do you guys have any odd or interesting relatives?

I have a family of NUTS!!

I have a cousin who believes she is a Shamanic healer (by her own declaration) and also believes she is abducted regularly by aliens and that she is part alien.

I have another cousin who is so consumed by guilt that I fully expect him to nail himself to a cross someday as he has dilusions if being Christ-like.

I had an Aunt who believed she saw silent yet brightly colored Helicopters chasing her.

I have an Aunt who is presently not in touch with reality and believes her son (my favorite cousin) had a fling with Dolly Parton.

I had an Uncle who imagined he was in the mob - acted like he was - but he wasn't he was just a NUT!



I think that's enough info for now! It's all true tho - now NO MORE questions about why I don't have anything to do with my family!!!!!!

5. OH.MY.GOD

Do I have A weird relative.... or are ALL my relatives weird?
That is the question.


My family is totally weird. On Thanksgiving I was saying we need a camera crew to follow us around at family functions because it would be the most interesting reality show ever.

4. Have a cousin who joined the Children of God

Was recruited at the University of Michigan - he was brilliant and a superlative violin player. He gave them his violin (one my uncle had scrimped for) and took off. Has a gazillion kids and was last heard of somewhere in India after many years in Ireland. Only came home once to have his teeth fixed.

My family is either gung ho about religion or allergic to it like me. I do think there is something genetic playing in all this. Very scary.
