What countries are your family from?

That is, where were your ancestors from?

Mine were from England on one side going back forever (oldest recorded one in 1381). Other side is Russian.

3. Doesn't matter. We dropped all that like a hot rock.
Day One on the pier, lugging trunks and talking funny. Day Two, "Say, Johnny, let's go down to the waterfront and beat up some foreigners!"

It is the American way.

On edit: but some of my English ancestors were Norman invaders, which means I have some Viking blood too. Also, I have at least one Native American ancestor (Cherokee).

10. Well, on one side of the family...

They emmigrated from France to Ireland in the 12th century, and mixed with English and Scottish Ancestry, along with a dash of German and most other European Countries after moving here back in the 17th century. The other side ended moving into my neck of the woods a little before the Civil War, from Germany. On a side note, we had family in Nazi Germany at the time, some distant Great Grand Uncles, stuff like that, they were killed off, all of them, for smuggling Jews away from the country. I don't have much tolerance for Fascism, with good reason.

11. all over!
My mom's side is from Germany, England, and Ireland. Most came over pretty early on. My dad's family (Jews) are more recent. The left Belarus to escape the Bolsheviks, some went to Poland, others came to the US. The ones that went to Poland were wiped out in the Holocaust.
