What's the oldest piece of clothing you have and still wear?
Mine is a t-shirt from The Red Tractor Cafe that I got on an impromptu road trip up to San Francisco with by best friend, back in 1994. I sleep in it these days. It's been across the country with me, and back, and it's just comfy enough and just tight enough, and doesn't even have any holes.

You?

12. My oilskin slicker
I've been wearing since the cowboy days. Gotta be 25 years and it still looks good (in an oilskin kind of way). Lots of miles on it but it's one of the most practical garments I own.

17. Born to Run T-shirt from Springsteen concert
So that's what? 1972? It fits because I'm still the same size but I rarely wear it because we don't wear T-shirts that fit close to the body these days unless we're 13. Hmmm.

even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

From a road race/bike day my parents participated in. I actually have two of them, and they're the softest shirts I own. I'm amazed they are still in one piece!

24. I have a madras plaid blouse
I bought in 1983. It doesn't show the wrinkles and goes w/ everything. However I think it maybe be doomed to yard and house work now. Weird black spots (mold?) showed up on it last year and didn't come out w/ one washing. Though to be honest, I don't remember what the status was when I put it away for the season. Maybe I had gotten it clean.

I have been wearing that coat since I was a sophomore in H.S. As it is dark blue, I didn't have to wash it until two years ago.}(

Buy army and police surplus! That stuff is built to last!

26. Nike swoosh t-shirt that's mostly holes, circa 1988
There's one real big hole on the back where I got it caught on a door handle once. But if I stand facing frontwards no one notices.

28. My thong underwear.
It's got a couple of dancing hyenas on the front. ON the back, you can barely read it, it says, "Have a howling good time."

Damn that thing fits like a glove after 12 years. Only on special occasions though.
