Do you ever feel misplaced?
Or like you don't really belong anywhere or fit in or have anything to offer?

I do... :evilfrown:

Meh, maybe I'll feel better later.... *sigh*

3. Right here, right now
You just made me feel like I've got a place because I can sit here and tell you that you do have a place, because I know what you're saying, and, really, it's an illusion.

Go eat some chocolate. You'll find your place right away.

:silly:

4. I'm sorry you feel that way
sometimes I feel that way up here where I live...it's so conservative, christian (i'm atheist) and overly Amuurican...

but I do like its small town appeal. I just hate the friggin' racist & homophobic assholes that come along with it. Plus I have none of MY family up here...

so yeah, I know what you mean

8. The earth is my oyster, and it ain't big enough.
If I feel like I belong, I've been in the same place too long. Time to move on.

Seriously. Change is the spice of life. What's the point of talking to people, if you already know what they're gonna say?

9. I was born at the wrong time and place
...however, when I was older, I moved to a better place and here I remain. It just saddens me to see them killing it with over-development.

10. Here in Seattle I'm surrounded by the misplaced...or are they placed?

All of those supercool geeks that got beaten up and chastised in high school live here now and, though they're still geeks at heart, their tattoos are way cool and the horn rimmed glasses make them look stunningly hip.

11. I almost always feel out of place
It was very hard when I was younger. I never felt like I fit in anywhere.

These days, I still feel out in left field by myself, but I don't feel bad about it. In fact, I find ways to appreciate my unique outlook. :-)

13. That's a good point too
When I went to my anxiety group therapy, the youngest member was a high school senior. He felt bad because he didn't feel like he fit in. He told of his interests that many people at his school seemed to think were stupid. He did have a few friends, but his differentness still bothered him. I told him that he should feel proud to be different. Sometimes that is hard, but that's really the solution.

12. I only fit in at college
Maybe, I'll in again somewhere sometime soon. I think getting a different job could help me in this pursuit and perhaps moving. If want to get more involved in the party and other liberal causes. I've been hesitant though since I may have to move if I get a different job.

15. Why would you want to fit in?
Then you'd be like the rest of the cows.

How dull would life be then? ;)

16. yep...
...I think most creative people go through life feeling misplaced. And people who ask questions and think for themselves feel misplaced too. For that matter, anyone who's adventurous.

The world works best for those who see no farther than carrot dangling six inches in front of them and never stop to realize that the carrot is connected by a string to a stick that is held by the giant smelly bastard that's riding around on their back and kicking them in the sides.

17. Oh....yeah
Always have. Never fit in anywhere, and felt very misunderstood. As a kid, I was obsessed with UFO's because I thought they'd come and take me away to somewhere I could belong. lol

Right now, I have little to offer...I'm disabled through illness, and cannot do very much...vacuuming the apartment or a walk around the block is a reason to celebrate. I seem to take more than I give, and I don't like the imbalance. I'm hoping there is a time where I can return some of the nice gestures that I've been shown.

I'd much prefer the well-off, fulfilled path than the poor and sick one. I made a wrong turn somewhere...

18. Wrong time, wrong place, wrong species.
Felt that way my whole life. But it's okay. It's just a matter of finding the place where I belong. I'm going to have to create it myself, I realize.

21. I'm very much my own person.
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 08:58 PM by SarahBelle
Some people it attracts. Some people it detracts (but they're usually not worth it anyway). I'm often told I'm aloof. Sometimes it's because I have walls. Sometimes it's because a lot of people just bore me.

However, I can be amazingly charming though when I choose to be. :7
