You don't know me from Adam, and there's no reason you should, but Khephra and I traded many a post, and a number of PMs. He'd hoped to come to NYC and stay with me sometime, but it never happened. And we shared an interest in Lovecraft and politics and other things. And I have to say, as I said in one of the above posts, he was truly one of my DU heroes, and I am truly sad at his death.

He was one of the DUers I yearned to meet and have deep, probing conversations with. I'm very sad I won't be able to.

Condolences to you, and many thanks for producing such a thoughtful and lucid and sometimes downright hilarious-while-being-poignant son.

Among the things he said was that he had met Khephra once at a D.C. anti-war rally, and that Mike and his wife Kathy liked your son very much. Mike also mentioned that Scott frequently e-mailed material to him, quite a bit of which Malloy ended up using on the air. And of course, Mike talked about DU. Finally, he went to his first commercial break of the night with a song that he dedicated to Khephra. Unfortunately, I had never heard the song before and couldn't tell you its title or artist.

They met him at one of the protests that Kef attended. He spoke about what a wonderful person Scott was and what an advocate he was...I am paraphrasing. He also played a song at the break and dedicated it to Scott.

BTW...if you call Will, he can probably walk you through it on Kef's computer to tune into the show...I will venture to guess Mike will probably mention him again...if Malloy loves anyone or anything he's passionate about it...so I wouldn't be surprised if he pays tribute to him periodically throughout the night.

HE was very forthright about his own personal sadness at Scott's passing.

Scott has sent many articles in to his wife...She remembers him quite well. Said how important Scott was to DU.
He dedicated a song to Scott.

Mamma Khef..I am so sorry for your loss. I never met Scott, but judging from the tributes of those who did know him, you did a mighty fine job with that man. He was loved and admired by everyone who had any contact with him. He was a kind and gentle soul, who will be missed by everyone.
