Tonight on Mike Malloy was the first I've heard of Khephra's (Scott's) passing. It's strange, but in a way I feel both good and bad for not having heard it when it did happen. This weekend I've been away from DU and the rest of the world that pipe's its way into my computer. On a weekend when tragedy strikes throughout the world, here it is striking close to home, making everything happening in the world seem both real and surreal at the same time.
I have seen many battles here in the past few years (though I hardly consider myself a veteran despite this), tried to participate in as few as possible...seen DUers come and go for many reasons, both good and bad, understandable and inexplicable. But through it all what I saw of Kheph was a voice of reason, someone constantly trying to bring the discussion back to point, slow the rocking boat.
I had never met him, except in the philosophical sense and world that is DU. I know that I will miss his posts, thoughts, and take on life and living. I believe that death is the beginning of a journey into the next world - godspeed Kheph.

I loved your post, and we'll make sure it's printed out form Momma Kef. It's really a sad day here, but we are coming together to help Momma Kef, and some of us will be traveling to the services...
