Question for Mac users
I desperately want a Mac, but first I have to know something. Are there any file sharing programs that work on Macs? I'm not talking about iTunes, but something along the lines of Kazaa. Not that I would ever pirate music. This is all for the less moral people who may use my computer.

1. Yes. There's Limewire, and Poisoned, both very good.

Poisoned is a file-sharing client that supports networks including FastTrack (Kazaa, iMesh, Grokster), Gnutella (LimeWire, BearShare, Shareaza), OpenNap (Napster), and OpenFT (a new and upcoming network). It supports all protocol features of these networks and quickly yields search results as well as transfer rates. Poisoned uses few system resources and contains up-to-date plug-ins and additional features, which include FastTrack preferences (port, port forwarding, a ban list), Gnutella meta data support, an availability column, and sorting sliders

LimeWire is the world's fastest P2P file-sharing application, letting users share and search for all types of computer files, including movies, pictures, games, and text documents. The application's other features include dynamic querying, the ability to preview files while downloading, advanced techniques for locating rare files, and an extremely intuitive user interface.

Version 4.2 is filled with terrific new features to make users’ experiences better than ever. Firewall-to-firewall transfers allow many more users to share files, greatly increasing content on the network. We’ve also added a pause button for downloads and a completely new MP3 player with better performance and OGG audio file support that enhances the listening experience. iTunes integration on Windows and new file views for easier sharing add up to make this the easiest, best file-sharing experience out there.

2. Limewire
You could also install the X11 application, and go get Gtk-Gnutella from fink.

Or so I'm told, anyway.

There are a few programs that allow you to share a few of your favorite personal files with some of your friends. I like limewire and it comes in 2 flavors, X and 9.

If you have any concerns or questions about software don't hesitate to tramp over to Macupdate.com or Versiontracker or macfixit, all of them are loaded with commercial, shareware and freeware.....
