Poll question: What is your least favourite household chore?
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 11:36 PM by PartyPooper
What do you like the least in maintaining your abode?

For me, I hate everything. I used to be a lot neater and cleaner when I was younger. But, now, I find it all too laborious and boring. I don't even like to make the bed.

What about you?

:D

:hi:

15. Laundry is the bane of my existance.
It is NEVER done. It piles up. And no one else is a good at doing it as you are. Others always fold wrong, or fail to put clothes away in the right spots. Or don't sort colors and fabrics...shall I go on?

16. I "changed the sheets" on the bed 2 weeks ago.
And, the "dirty" sheets are still on the table next to the washing machine!

You're so right...it never ends!

24. Me too! Anything that needs ironing goes to the Dry Cleaners
I'm not generally a prima donna, but I just can't seem to iron things properly and it drives me mad. I try to buy things that don't need ironing and if something does, I take it to the cleaners!

6. Cleaning the ceiling fans
I have two in my bedroom and a 10FT ceiling. It's never a fun chore to climb the ladder and get dust all in your face.

I like to think the ceiling's high enough people can't see the dust on them. :P

8. Evil stepmother used to vacuum when she was mad at me
Now I can't stand the sound of the thing, but it's even worse if someone else does it.

For that very reason I have all wood floors and mostly washable or shakable rugs. Two area rugs need vacuuming and it is practically a ritual to clean them once every couple of weeks.

11. I must say
that cleaning my teen age daughters room is it. I call it the black hole and I never go in there without letting someone out side know that I'm *GOING IN*. I tie a rope around my waist and the other end to the door knob and hope that 4 hours reserved will do it. Then after I get 4 more hours of bitchin' for being in there, but what can I say, when I ask her and ask and tell and tell sooner or later the smell gets to be more than I can tolerate so I do it. I hate to see her home when she moves out because that room is ruined. It will need new carpet and paint at the least. That is when I move my home office to her room. only 2 more years Lord.......

20. Every single one of those jobs is more fun than going to work
and putting up with some asshole who's paid to make your life miserable while you work with bitter co-workers helping people who don't appreciate it. I've been at home for over 3 years and I'll take housework any day.

And thats my cheery thought for the day

25. Bah.
I have a Japanese lady come and clean the house every other Friday. She does a complete, (AND I MEAN COMPLETE) job in about 4 hours for ¥5000. (roughly 50 bucks). All the wife and I have to do is straighten up on the weekends. (which translates to her cleaning and and griping at me about being lazy :P)

28. The whole set-up seems wrong
Forgive me for ranting, but why are toilets so low? Or why do men have to stand to pee? This just seems like a really bad design flaw, either on the part of God or on toilet manufacturers.

Also, why is it that the sex who pees on the floor isn't usually the one who CLEANS the floor?

30. Laundry
I have to share a laundry room with 10 other apartments. There is one small washer and one dryer. My list of Laundry room peeves is endless. Someone who forgets to remove their wet clothes from the washer hours after it's finished tops the list.

35. aha, I am not alone.
I would almost rather dump them back in the washer than put them away.

I think it is a holdover from dorm days when I had a closet the size of a postage stamp

but I really belong in the "hates everything" category.

37. Cleaning the bathroom, in particular the tub/shower.
I think that's harder to clean that the toilet. I have to break out the bleach to get rid of all of the mildew on the tub. The fumes are awful. I wore goggles the last time because my eyes are so sensitive they just start watering if there's bleach fumes. Bleach sucks, but I haven't found a better way yet to get the tub clean.
