I just found out my Cat Food is run by a Bush Lovin' CEO
My Cats have eaten Nutro Products cat food since I've first owned them. It's a high quality food that has help keep my cats extremely healthy! Their fur is in top condition, they never have hairballs and even the litterbox isn't a smelly mess.

Well I looked up Nutro Products and it seems THEY are the smelly mess. The CEO is republican to the core and yep, that's over $100k donated to republican causes.

I'm switching my cats to Royal Canin. That's another high end product and they are based in France - can't go wrong with the French

They have the "Choice Cuts" and the "Pate.' The cat really likes them. Check them out.

4. It's sad...
... to have to dump a product you like, but even sadder to inadvertently support the destruction of our country.

Since the web sites have come up with this info, my wife and I have certainly adjusted our shopping habits.

Good work in finding this.

7. Arrrghh!! MaxCat Lite is the only healthy dry food she likes
I've given up on healthy wet food - it seems it's Fancy Feast or nothing, and I've been through every possible brand at what my SO calls the "hippie cat food store" (an independent natural pet food store).

Guess I'll try something else, though.

10. The New Kitten we just adopted was eating Nutro
But we are trying to convert the 6 month old torty kitty to Science Diet, which our vet prefers, and which our sleek, yet wide all black 8-year old loves, (even in prescription form), and which our 18 year old thin all black kitty ate for most of his life until his passing in December.

14. It's high end quality cat food
Which you can get in pet stores but not the supermarket. Cat food like Nutro, Royal Canin and a few others are made without alot of fillers in their food. Fillers = More Poo & More Stinky Poo because let's face it - cats don't need fillers like Ash so it goes in one end and out the other. Also some cheaper cat foods tend to have a higher level of Magnesium which can be the kiss of painful life for the Male Cat's urinary tract. So for the few extra dollars I spend on cat food, I'm probably saving money in the long run because my cats are healthier and have less of that stinkie poo.

However, Nutro isn't the only high end quality cat food out there. Royal Canin is based out of France with a manufacturing plant in Missouri and they didn't show up in Open Secrets. So my cats will be switching to Royal Canin.

Note to those who are switching products: Do not switch your cat's dry food cold turkey because they'll likely turn their nose up to it. Instead gradually switch by blending the old & new cat food together.

17. A link to a natural cat diet, since cats are carnivores.
.
Interesting article on how to feed your cat closest to his or her real diet, since cats are 100% carnivores by nature:

22. Good to know ... I was going to switch my puppies to Nature's Choice
by Nurto. Now I won't. I've been giving my 1 1/2-year-old dog Science Diet since she was about 7 weeks old and am giving my 2 month old puppy Science Diet puppy food for large doggies (she's a Golden Retriever). I wanted to switch because of the fillers. I was just waiting until I talked it over with their vet. Now I guess I'll just ask about the natural foods by Science Diet. As long as Hills isn't a repug donor, too.
