NAPERVILLE — Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who has been seen walking naked in the hallways of Neuqua Valley High School twice in the past month.
Sgt. Joel Truemper said the most recent siting occurred at 9:50 a.m. Sunday when the man was spotted walking around naked inside the girls locker room.
"We are not sure if he is just hanging around or waiting to see who is coming or going or what," Truemper said.
On Sunday, a woman called police immediately after spotting the man, who was gone by the time police arrived. After reviewing videotape from cameras posted in the hallways, police determined the man arrived fully clothed, went into the boy's locker room and emerged wearing only a black leather trenchcoat.
Truemper said the video images indicate the man was inside the high school for at least 40 minutes before he was spotted. During that time, the school was open for swim club activities.
The school does not have video cameras inside the locker rooms.
Both times the naked man was spotted were on Sundays, on Jan. 9 and at 9 p.m. Dec. 12, when the school was open for non-school functions. The Dec. 12 incident, where a woman saw the man walking naked in a hallway during a non-school girl's basketball league activity, was not reported to police for two days.
"We are hoping someone can recognize this guy," Truemper said. "We reviewed video from both dates and we are confident it is the same person."
