How long have you gone without taking a bath or shower? |
|
If it's really crappy weather outside (like very cold or nasty in winter), I won't take a shower for an entire weekend. If I'm going to stay inside practically the whole weekend, what's the point?

I'm surprised I was ambiguous about it. :-)

Backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
I almost always blow it off on weekends except when I'm going out to socialize.

I play with my hair so much that it starts to feel greasy and grotesque very quickly. I can't abide not washing it. Even in a student house when the hot-water failed, I had to shower every day.

I'm a computer programmer though, so I'm allowed to smell. My girlfriend doesn't mind too much either.

15. what would happen if, somehow, you were kept against your will in a place |
|
that didn't have the means for you to take a shower for a few days?

I bathed in a river several times. We did not have soap though. It was a stretch of the Appalachian Trial.
When my appendix ruptured I was in the hospital for 5 days and did not shower.

A good, thorough wash was all many people could get for the whole week in times before everyone had running warm water and a shower. My grandparents (living in a small village) took up the hassle to heat enough water for a bath on Saturdays only - but they did wash themselves thorougly every day.
Me? Several days, when hiking. In hospitals I also had to stay off a shower for quite some time. After that, showering becomes even more of a pleasure than before!

Long story short, I was basically living out in the wild. I took a melted snow sponge bath (just the sweaty areas) once a week, and used a crystal deodorant the rest of the time. I was staying on top of a mass amount of sulphur springs... I smelled anyways!
As a funny aside, I never got laid so much in my life! I have good musk apparently! lol!
