I dreamt about the afterlife last night....

It was one of those dreams where your POV is an invisible observer.

In my dream, what happened is that after you die you "wake up" in a place that is kind of like a peaceful, quiet resort. It had the feel of being up in the mountains, like a ski resort in summer.

Anyway, you wake up pretty much in the physical and mental condition that you died in, and this "resort" place is like a first destination where you pretty much just rest.

But almost immediately, things begin to change for you, and the place is set up to help you adjust to what has happened (your death), and to start "healing" from whatever issues you have left over.

I sort of got the idea that once you had completed the healing process that you moved on from the "resort", but my dream didn't go there. There was no sense of urgency or pressure to "get fit" or "get healthy". It was just really peaceful. And beautiful.

It sounds kind of corny, now that I've typed it out. But it was a really comforting, beautiful dream. I just wanted to share it.

and not so different from other descriptions I've read about-- from dreams, near-death-experiences, and mystical readings.

If we knew for sure that there was life after death, it would take away so much of the fear and pain we currently live with.
