2. It's the great rock and roll bald rule.
If your singer goes bald during the period when you are famous - your career will crumble.

3. A stage of sleep
Rapid eye movement (REM) is the stage of sleep during which the most vivid (though not all) dreams occur. During this stage, the eyes move rapidly, and the activity of the brain's neurons is quite similar to that during waking hours. It is the lightest form of sleep; people awakened during REM usually feel alert and refreshed.

During a night of sleep, a person usually has about four or five periods of REM sleep, which are quite short at the beginning of the night and longer at the end. It is common to wake for a short time at the end of a REM phase. The total time of REM sleep per night is about 90-120 minutes.

6. I respectfully submit that they fell off before Green.
I hate that record - first R.E.M. record I disliked, in fact.

8. I'll admit they fell off the minute they left the garage.

9. I'm willing to concede on that. Truly Life's Rich Pageant was their apex.
Green held a sentimental place for me but I have no problem writing it off musically

5. they've been in a rut since Bill left
the new stuff is adequate, but they've lost their spark, along with the great twang Stipe's voice used to have

7. Aww, that's not fair.Their later stuff is brilliant but in a different way
I thought New Adventures in Hi-Fi was their Sgt. Pepper, and Up was their White Album. I also think Around the Sun is a delight. So there. :P

11. Nothing....just evolving!!! I thought Automatic for the People
was their best, but do enjoy each of their releases, in different ways. For me, Monster, Green, Out of Time have aged most poorly...
