I HATE it when someone leaves a message that is not a message
and just says "call me". They need a piece of information which I could give to them via email or leaving a message but instead of telling me what it is they make me play phone tag all day for something that turns out to not really be important at all!

3. I hate it when
they have some information for you that could easily be left in a one sentence voicemail message, but instead they want you to call them back. And why do people talk so fast in their voicemail messages, especially when giving their phone number? I have to listen to the message twice to get the number down. Do they think there's a tape that's going to run out?

4. I usually say my number twice
just cause I hate when I have to play a message again just to get the phone number.

5. Exactly. I know there is some information people don't like to give over
the phone but they do it for every little thing, to force you to call them. I get lots of hurried voicemail messages, and there is plenty of time on mine.

7. As a person whose job it was to listen to voice mails and copy the #s
therein, I agree. When I leave a message, I said my number like one of those mechanical voices, 'cause I know how hard it is when it's rattled off

8. And there's some sort of inverse formula they use...
... the longer, more rambling the message, the quicker they spit out the phone number.

Two or three minutes of blah blah, uh, um, blah, oh and blah de blah blah... then 10 numbers compressed into a fraction of a second's time.

Yay! I get to listen to the blah blah blah all over again, in the vague hope that I'll be able to decipher the number the second time around. :grr:

6. I have my friends trained.
A simple 'call me' will never result in a return call, and they all know that.

about somebody and when you see somebody you'll know something too.
That was the message.
