Happy 81st birthday to blues legend SLIM HARPO!
The late, great master of swamp blues, Slim Harpo (real name: James Moore), was born in Lobdell, Louisiana on January 11, 1924. His legendary 1950s and '60s recordings for the Excello label included "I'm A King Bee," "I've Got Love If You Want It," "Raining In My Heart," "Baby, Scratch My Back," "Shake Your Hips," "Tip On In," and "Te Ni Nee Ni Nu." Slim Harpo died of a heart attack on January 31, 1970 at age 46.
