Are you Phobic?
I have a "close talker" phobia.
There is NOTHING worse (to me) than when someone gets right up in your face and wont move.

1. I don't think that's a phobia
I think it's considered a phobia when somebody has an irrational fear.

It sounds like you are irritated, not afraid, when people get right up in your face and won't move. It also sounds like your irritation is perfectly rational!

2. The Phobia Sets In
When I can spend like 2 hours worrying about talking to a certain person because I freakin know they are gonna get up in my face.
I always feel trapped

4. I have a fear of spiders....
Ugh I can't stand them

I can watch movies about them... or have mean ugly gianted mutated spiders in them and such.. but gosh can't stand if one's around me and such.. or when a friend slighty walks their fingers up my neck, and it just feels like a spider "shudders describing that" ugh...

11. Spiders too....
...but only big ones. It's not as bad as it used to be. When I was a kid I couldn't even look at pictures of little, normal-sized ones. Now it's only wolf-spider-sized and upwards that give me serious conniptions. I consider that improvement.

However, there is about 10 minutes of 'The Return of the King' I simply cannot be in the same room with.

18. I know what ten minutes your talking about...
And that didn't bug me too much with the exception of the

"Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen it yet so might want to scroll down a little"................. When he gets paralyzed by the spider "shudders".. not the paralyzing itself.. but how she accomplishes it...."END OF SPOILERS"

But ugh, I remember once as a kid, my door's lock messed up, locking me in my room, and I was stuck in there with a spider.. I stood on top of my toy chest hoping it stay on the floor, and I scream bloody murder until someone got me out of my room.... to make matters worse, it took about an hour to get me out of the room because the parents were out grocery shopping.

26. Peter Jackson is an arachnophobe too
He based Shelob's look on a species of New Zealand spider that he's personally terrified of. He understands exactly what it is about them that's so horrifying, and exaggerated every bit of it. Evil, evil man.

And yeah....the sting. And the...*ick* wrapping! Pee break! Want more popcorn? I'm going to the concession stand!

What an awful story! Ick.

On my last day of my first year of college, I woke up with the worst hangover of my life (not just alcohol) a little bit before my parents were going to come pick me up. All I wanted was a shower....so I go to the bathroom (our "dorms" were these weird little wooden buildings in the woods) and sitting right on the drain was this HUMONGOUS fucking spider BIGGER THAN MY HAND. I didn't know they got that big outside of the Amazon! (This was in upstate New York). The maid was still there cleaning and I couldn't talk, I just tugged on her sleeve and stammered and pointed. She said, "Oh, nursery spider" and sucked it right up with the vacuum cleaner, and the THUNK sound it made made me projectile vomit right there, lucky the toilet was near.

For years I told this story and I don't think anyone believed me about the size of this beast--until one day four years ago I was in BWI Airport and I saw this display they had of stuffed and mounted local fauna, and there in a glass case was one of these bastards. WAY bigger than my hand (with legs outstretched - a good TEN INCHES at least in diameter). These creatures DO live in the good ol' temperate East Coast USA!!

"Nursery spider" she called it. Of course. I'm sure it eats babies.

9. I don't like birds but I'll do my best to get them out the house safely
if the cat should bring one in.

I don't like being next to big ships, they just look completely unnatural in their height and not tipping over.

I don't mind being in an elevator, but I get in and out of them quickly due to a fear of them falling as I'm crossing the frame and cutting me in two.

I don't like taking my shoes or boots off in strangers' houses.

25. Open water and crowds...
I have a phobia of being in the middle of the ocean and not being able to see what is beneath me. I think I saw "Jaws" too many times but the idea of that situation freaks me out.

I also get very uncomfortable if I am in a crowded room that is hard to move around in.

28. Yes.
Fear of heights.

Claustrophobic (can't handle elevators)

Fear of flying (that has more to do with the claustrophobia than anything)

Deathly deathly deathly afraid of snakes. (Living in bayou-country of Louisiana growing up during a flood will help you along with that).

Overall, I'm pretty neurotic.
