Any Stereolab fans? The Green Screen!!!

Much to the dismay of a relatively meager handful of devoted regulars, the official Stereolab forum has had to close down recently due the continued harassment of one particularly vile troll who simply would not piss off, and outdated software that was ill-equipped to handle the situation. In an attempt to fill the gap, I've created a new Proboards forum over at: http://thegroop.proboards42.com/index.cgi . For those that aren't familiar, Stereolab is an extremely innovative and left-leaning rock group from the UK, who've recorded extensively with those involved in the underground music scene in Chicago. I'm guessing they attract the attention of at least some significant segment of people here at DU, and probably would attract even more if they were only aware of them, so if you're interested, come on over and check it out. In order to keep out the troll, I've had to lock it all up, so you'll have to register in order to view or post...sorry about that. I've even got a politics forum on the board!!

5. I love Stereolab

I have three of their older albums and a couple of songs from one of the newer. Mars Audiac Quintet is my favorite, but I like Dots and Loops a lot too. I have been to broke to buy anything newer. :(

... Especially Peng, Mars Audiac Quintet, Random Transient Noise Bursts with Announcements, Emperor Tomato Ketchup.

I haven't found their later stuff to be as interesting. My theory is that no pop artist/group remains vital for more than 8 years :)
