Question regarding Bush's pretzel-choking incident

So anyway, the conversation topic came up between me and my girlfriend, and a Google search of "bush choke pretzel" didn't exactly clarify the matter--while everyone likes to mention that Bush choked on a pretzel, nobody seems to mention if it was one of those little hard pretzels that come in bags like potato chips, or soft salted ones like you get at baseball games. Now, the CNN article says "while eating a pretzel," which leads me to believe that it was a soft one, because one does not eat tiny pretzels one at a time. But, on the other hand, the same article claims White House doctors said the pretzel may have become lodged against a nerve, a feat nigh-impossible for a soft pretzel but quite understandable for a shard of hard pretzel. So, fellow liberals, what was the cause of our President's calamity? What was the foodstuff that nearly gave us President Cheney? Hard or Soft?
