It feels like everyone's life has progressed and mine has regressed. I don't see any way out of my predicament.

18. I used to write poems in my 20s |
|
Now that I am in my forties I realize they all had the same theme: "life sucks". After a while, I got used to it, carved out a spot, found some good things, got a couple dogs. Maybe it was the dogs that made the difference. Now I sorta have somebody to steady my life.

so it is not yet late. We are not allowed to feel blue in this red state. You should be thankful that you can.

wants to read and grade scores of 50 page papers? And fifty pages. Wow. I once took a summer class where we had to write one eight page paper per week. Most of the other students cheated, summarizing the articles, which they were not supposed to do. I ended up quoting another one of my papers for two of my pages, and I titled my last paper "another eight pages".

That prof graded kinda arbitrary. I do not remember any of the papers being graded as such. He always assigned more work than it was possible to get done, so we got incompletes and owed him some kind of huge project. This was in graduate school, and grading papers always seemed kinda arbitrary. My roommate was reading one of my papers that I got back and he said, "how can you write 'good point' on every page and still give the paper only a B?"

37. How is he as a professor? |
|
I was a political science major, so we spent some time reading and talking about his "Clash of Civilizations", especially in international politics, and, of course, after 9/11.
50 pages - that's shitty. Sounds like my political theory professor -the kind who seems to think you have no other work to be doing except for his class.

33. I feeling water logged |
|
Make this rain go away. Water is starting to come into the basement. There is a lake between the house and garage that should not be there. The flood control dams around me are at the highest levels ever with one dam leaking. If that dam goes, many people in the area will be flooded out. Just make the rain go away.

The Tuscarawas river flows into the Muskingum which flows into the Ohio at Marietta. Marietta has suffered major flooding this week. The dams upstream are keeping the river cities downstream safe. Unfortunately, we are getting too much rain.

But still up relatively early. I can relate though. At the moment, I should be going over a bunch of divorce junk to give to the attorney. I feel like I have a thousand things all at once weighing me down and I'm trying to retain a modicum of inner peace as not to go mad. So far, so good, but yeah, some days are harder than others.
I do have some feelings with someone, but they remain in perpetually unfulfilled limbo. Very bittersweet. :(
