'Ali G' enrages rodeo crowd
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 08:28 AM by wicket
This is in LBN, but I thought the lounge might get a kick out of it :)

http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1243181.html

Ali G comic Sacha Baron Cohen is being blamed for a hoax which enraged cowboys at a US rodeo. The comedian's other alter ego, bumbling Kazakhstani Borat Sagdiyev, is the chief suspect behind the stunt at a rodeo at Salem, Virginia.

It started when a 'Middle Eastern man in an American flag shirt and a cowboy hat' was introduced to the crowd as Borat Sagdiyev from Kazakhstan, an immigrant touring America.

Speaking in broken English, the man said: "I hope you kill every man, woman and child in Iraq, down to the lizards. And may George W. Bush drink the blood of every man, woman and child in Iraq."

He then told the crowd to be seated, put his hat back on, and launched into a butchered version of The Star-Spangled Banner that ended with the words "your home in the grave".

2. it Ali G
have you never seen his show? he goes to redneck places and kind of does this stuff. like he did a thing on Jews once and he is Jewish.

went to a southern bar and had the entire bar singing a song about killing Jews!

he enjoys emphasizing the hypocrisy of the loving red states.

3. I've been humming 'Throw the Jew down the well' this morning
but at least I wasn't singing along like those rednecks. Amazing.

4. He excels at getting people to expose their own evilness :)
And he's funny as hell while doing it.

9. Yeah, he's brilliant...
...especially in his Bruno and Borat guises. As Ali G, in contrast, he's just playing dumb; it's sometimes a bit tedious.

8. It's not anti red-state.
He picks on anybody, and the left-wingers can be most funny.

He did an interview with a feminist academic a few years ago, his alter-ego pretending that 'feminism' meant lesbian-sex. It would be so un-P.C. to tell him to shut up (he pretending to be black) that she just dug herself deeper and deeper into the hole.

12. good point, although those
are the funniest moments. he did manage to get thrown out by of all people the all important Andy Rooney! please. most guest just answer his questions though. funny to watch but sometimes he can get very boring when he drags things out.

5. He's from the UK, and very often
goes way over the top, and his humor is not exactly funny, imo, but somebody should explain to him just how dangerous the USA can be, compared to Old Blighty, and do it quick.

7. My favourite was when he toured the UN
And he asked Boutros Boutros (Boutros) Gali if the Nation of Jordan was named after Michael Jordan, and why "Africa" didn't have a seat at the UN.

10. That was classic, especially the puzzled look on his face
as he counted how many times he said Boutros :)
