I just got back from a great conference where I stayed up all night hanging out with cool jazz musicians, and now I'm back, sitting at my desk, staring at my computer. I wish my job were glamorous and fun more than just a few times a year.

Word was that she wasn't feeling well.

I did get to hang with Herbie Hancock and Nancy Wilson, so that was cool.

I met Joni five years ago, and she was incredibly sweet. We talked at length about her Mingus record, and at the end of our conversation, she gave me a bunch of roses. I still treasure them.
