My company's going under
I can feel it. We're not going to get that next round of financing. But of course everyone is putting a happy face on it. While other key people jump ship.

SO not looking forward to looking for a job again. This one actually lasted almost two whole fucking years.

Other than that, sorry to hear about the misfortune :(

4. I hate when that happens, no I really do.
It not just the loss of income, it's also lost relationships. :(

6. I wish you the best of luck...
After 14yrs in CA, I know what it is like to take a beating in the employemnt arena. I am fortunate (for now) to have a job that unless I really screw up, will take me through retirement (only 22 yrs Ihope).

I have been at the same place for almost 8 years (a record!!) and we just started up a new power generation facility here, so unless I can't crank those valves due to old age, I'm good to go (for once).

My hometown in Maine is severely depressed, also. The area that i live in now (s.e. connecticut) is pretty much booming, with Pfizer, Electric Boat, 2 casinos, etc. You may want to look into relocating!

8. If you can keep your head while all around you
Others are losing theirs...

We need more poets like Kipling nowadays, particularly us wage slaves.

A few years back I worked for a company in the process of self-destruction and it was the most frustrating and depressing job experience I ever went through. Many of us tried to help but since we were at the lower levels none of our suggestions made it to policy in any form.

My immediate boss tried to soften the blow one day, taking me aside and telling me that just because the company that had taken over the one I worked for was a multinational corporation, the people at the top were no smarter than anyone else. Time proved him right and we both work for different companies now while the place we worked for is gone.

At least I was able to get another job because I was in the union. There were others who weren't so fortunate (or smart).

9. You're smart enough to see what's going on.
That puts you one step ahead of those who aren't, Jack.
