No more, Mr. Cleeeeeeeean!
I know that Alice Cooper is supposed to have invented "shock rock", but you go back and listen to a lot of it and it seems intentionally a bit silly - it's almost like he's doing a parody of shock rock! Was anybody here around back then to remember if it was ever considered real "shocking", or if it just had some scary elements with a toungue-in-cheek attitude about it?

Never thought it was shocking, but it was a one-of -a kind act. Never heard any moralistic outcry. Just rock and roll, show-biz. Good book about that band-"Billion Dollar Babies" by Bob Greene. If you like rock books, you'll dig this one. Written back then(70's).

concert acts were supposed to be shocking--but more theatrical and silly fun like Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Aaaaahhhh! those concerts back in the 70s--sex, drugs and rock n roll--couldn't ask for more!

at thirteen. Early seventies. He had a gallows on the stage and hung himself. It was very realistic. Of course I was thirteen so my experience of the world was not too vast....
