Why do we congratulate each other for hitting "milestone" posts? It's not as though posting a friggin' ton of shit on the 'net takes any special skill.

...but there was a time when DU was less dominated by sophomoric Lounge behavior. In those days we were all serious and stuff, and hitting 1000 posts was indicative of real dedication to digging out the facts and presenting detailed analyses of complex events. Nowadays folks hit 1000 posts during a single night of silliness in the Lounge, and baiting the mods is a top DU sport. In the old days we respected the mods. BAD Lounge lizards! BAD!
