Please post some good things that have happened this week.
Well, besides a couple of friends finding employment this week... :-)

The Illinois General Assembly passed, and the Governor will sign, a bill banning discrimination based on sexual orientation. A gay rights bill...which we gay and lesbian Illinoians have wanted for more than a decade...is finally the law of the land! Yay! :-)

9. Not for about 10 years, my friend.
It would be very easy to add the words "sexual orientation" to the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964. But we're not, realistically, anywhere near the point where that's politically feasible.

Great news about you finishing your research project!

12. Wish you guys luck all the way
I really regret being a jerk when I was younger, I wasn't like Phelps but I was intolerant. The biggest step in my tolerance was when I met my cousin Jamey who is gay, him and his partner are really nice people and they wanted to get me drunk at the family reunion, hah I can see why why they're on the Irish side of the family ;). They also adopted a little girl. He's a lucky guy, his father whos a philly based psychiatrist has been very tolerant of him. They did a really good job setting up our family reunion.

16. But...that's what's so encouraging, John.
Your attitude towards gay people has evolved...because, in large part of your cousin and his partner. That's what so important about gay and lesbian people coming out to their friends and family...it helps heterosexuals like you to reassess your thinking about gay people.

22. Well, don't feel too bad about it.
My mom was REALLY bad about it, John. When I came out, she said the most hateful things...because she just didn't know any better. She's 72 now...and she grew up in the 40's and 50s'...hardly a time of enlightened attitudes towards gay people. But she learned...and now loves my partner ALMOST as much as I do. :-)

23. Thats good
You know what really makes me happy is that my grandmother, a devout Catholic woman and 77 years old is for civil unions, not for gay marriage but still, I am very proud of that, so is my grandpa too I think and these people were what Reagan democrats were to the max, they never supported him but they examplifed Reagan dems perfectly.

4. The house I want to buy just passed inspection
There are some minor repairs but we'll deal with them. This is especially nice because we'vebeen looking since August and lost a house in December a week before closing.

So that's my good news.

It was quite tricky because the wiring in this house is old, but he did a great job. He also painted the room for me. :hi:

24. I'm going back to Los Angeles on friday!
I used to live there and am moving back soon- I had to leave after a really bad car accident and I couldn't walk or anything, but soon I'll be able to move back.

Fortunately my boyfriend's been patient with my absence, and he bought me the plane ticket! I'm going back to Disneyland (which I love love love), and I get to have some fun for once.

Yay!
