Why is there no "no moon?" |
There's a full moon and a half moon and a quarter moon, but no "no moon." There is always a portion of a moon. Why?

3. You forget the "New Moon"? |
New Moon - The Moon's unilluminated side is facing the Earth. The Moon is not visible (except during a solar eclipse).
That's 'no moon' -- for a very brief time.

4. I thought the same side of the moon faces us always. |
It just depends on the illumination as to whether it is new moon, half moon, and so on.
