1. Any Niners fan in PA is a fine fellow! How have you been lately?

2. I'm a female, actually
Not too good - 2-14 is NOT my idea of a triumph! But we've been 2-14 before - then 6-10 - then we won the Super Bowl. I doubt that will happen again for a WHILE, however.

How YOU doin'?

7. We have two cats
Montana (you can guess where that name came from) and Simba. They're littermates and are neutered males, born in June 1995. Monty is a 20-lb. big boy with charcoal gray fur and yellow eyes. Simba is a 14-pounder who's an orange tabby. We used to have 4 cats, but Guinevere (tortoiseshell) had to be put to sleep in 2000, and Fergus (black and brown tiger) died at age 19 in August 2003. What kind of cats do you have?

5. Well, I'm a native Kansan
Most Kansans are one of three things: a Chiefs fan, a Broncos fan, or a Cowboys fan. I like the Chiefs and detest the other two. I became attached to the Niners because my sister lives in the Bay Area (San Leandro, to be exact), and I jumped on the bandwagon during their first Super Bowl season and have been a fan through thick and thin ever since.

Ended up in PA because of my husband's job - we moved here from Wichita in 2000. He started a job in, of all places, Dallas in August, and I'll be moving there after I finish law school in May. But there's no WAY I'm becoming a Cowboys fan!

What about you - where's your home base?

11. I spent two years commuting to Dallas in the early 90's.
Consulting. The $$$'s were great but Dallas took a little getting used to. Where you live is critical. The burgs are intense and to be avoided!!! Tempting, buy a big-ass house and think you loaded but...There is a nice older area and semi-bohemian parts of town. If you find those, it may be bearable. Come to think of it, see if he can work out of Austin, great place (you'll go there a lot).

I'm on NoVA, birthplace of the internet(s). We're just having a ball here with all the upcoming festivities. Celebrating autocracy and "the boy king."

Wanna see some cool DC pics (quite presentable)?

13. Too late
We bought a house in Irving, in Valley Ranch. Yes, it's big; no, we're not LOADED, but comfortable. About 50% of the neighborhood is "Desi" (someone from the Indian subcontinent); my husband is Pakistani, so he likes that.

Sure - let's see some DC pics!

14. Irving, not to shabby. Multi-cultural hood, excellent.
Edited on Thu Jan-13-05 01:15 AM by autorank
Now that's the way to be in Dallas. Irving is quite conservative but in a $$$'s sense. Dick Armey country and Frost almost won there when they screwed him in the redistricting mess. It's a central location and you can get to cool places easily (like the baseball park which is excellent).

Oh, almost forgot, here are my 'slides.' I'm tedious about these and maybe I'll be the next to be shunned.

10. It's okay to jump on bandwagons
The real test of a fan is whether you STAY on them.

heh, unlike my brother who jumped onto the bulls bandwagon during their title run and then promply jumped ship for the lakers when jordan retired and was a "loyal" lakers fan until they disbanded. now he doesn't talk much about them.
