2. I'm not a guy, but I'll assume that I'm included
Hope you feel better. I've been up all night. I can tell I'm really tired, because I am so cold. On the other hand, I am making progress - so that is a good thing.

13. Good afternoon
I'm moderately pissed-off.

Today was to have been splendid, with the other two occupants of my office off. One of them doesn't work on Thursdays, the other has been ill.

The ill one arrived as normal, apparently her doctor told her to stay off work for 6 days, so she ignored him totally.

Then they stuck a damn auditor in here as well.

The day of gorgeous music in the office got no further than the 'song of the drunken poet' from Purcell's the Fairy Queen.

Grrs.

Meeting a chum in London tomorrow at the National Gallery, so all very merry there.

18. Where in britain do you live?
I was watching some of Prime Minister's questions yesterday, ya know for some odd reason, I can tell labour from conservative, I know this sounds judgemental but Ive been doing it by the way they sound, and Ive been accurate, conservatives sound more snobby and upper class aristocratic

33. About 20 miles N.W. of London
In the beautiful setting of the Chiltern Hills.

Buckinghamshire (where I live) is probably the most Conservative county in Britain (at one point in the mid '90s it was the only Tory majority County Council), but even round here everybody seems to dislike Dubya.

On the Tory-Labour speach thing. I know what you mean, part of it is a class thing, but I think that it is more a regional thing; it's also getting less as the years pass. Labour's heartlands are the cities and the north, whereas the Conservatives are in the countryside and mainly the South-East. There are a few exceptions to the rule as well, for example William Hague (former Tory leader) is from Yorkshire (God's own county) and though his accent has mellowed a tad, it is still clear; and obviously Blair, he's from the north and represents a northern constituency, but speaks pretty accentless English. I'm pretty close to old-style received pronunciation as well.
