DISGUSTING & TASTELESS: BUSH TWINS
deciding which designer dress to wear while women their age are maimed and or dying in an illegal war started by their dad. Why isn't the press commenting on the irony of this? Oops, I forgot, the press is bought and paid for by this administration.

3. I've thought about this lately.
It makes me sad when I think about Kerry's kids (inc. stepkids), and the Edwards' eldest, their daughter. Such dignified kids, such intelligent and well-educated kids, who knew how to interact with anyone respectfully. They could have been representing us, and I would have been so proud - as opposed to the Party Girls.

5. Well, nobody else is skipping their proms and going naked
I don't begrudge the bush twins their right to buy a dress.

But what DOES bother me is that someone decided this was NEWS and reported it without irony.

Maybe, when they're done with them, some soldiers can strap the gowns to their Hummers to use as armor.

could actually buy a couple or armors.

7. My conversation on the train about the Bush Twins
A couple of young Republicans were on the train politely debating their Democrat friend.

One of the Republicans mentioned receiving the mass-emailing from the Bush campaign that supposedly came from the Bush twins.

"You know, I got an email from the Bush twins yesterday."

I used this as my opportunity to break into the conversation.

"Actually, I got a phone call from them last week. They said they needed a designated driver."

This got a good laugh from the kids and some others on the train.

One of them mentioned Bush supporting the troops, and I brought up how he cut the funding for VA services, removed provided services from the VA web pages in an attempt to hide some resources that were available, and slashed the budget for family military housing.

By the time I was done (and they seemed genuinely surprised by what I told them. They'd never heard it before) I think they were ready to run out and get Howard Dean bumper stickers.

11. You probably mean "public relations", not publicity...even still, the
Royal family members have long been involved in real activities. It helps raise the profile of a lot of good causes. They also are exercising an all-but-forgotten concept, at least in this country, of "noblesse oblige". Because you are among the fortunate you are obliged to help those less so.

The Bush family wouldn't know that concept if they fell over it.

WHILE we were at war with them, as I recall. So I suppose if the Bush twins only wore swastikas, they'd be better than their great-grandfather. Of course, their great-grandaddy's money is helping them to buy those purty gowns, so who knows?

Im sure Ill get banned for this but what the hell.... are we honestly going off on the Bush twins for BUYING A DRESS??? Does this honestly rise to the level of despicable?????? Just because their dad is the President, and just because we dont agree with that decision doesnt mean the mans daughters are despicable and Kerry's daughters are "respectable". This is the type of shit that makes even the New York Times ask "what the fuck?"

The Anti Defamation League has a different opinion... but dont let that stop you.

Prescott Bush's Alleged Nazi "Ties"

Rumors about the alleged Nazi "ties" of the late Prescott Bush, the grandfather of President George W. Bush, have circulated widely through the Internet in recent years. These charges are untenable and politically motivated.

Despite some early financial dealings between Prescott Bush and a Nazi industrialist named Fritz Thyssen (who was arrested by the Nazi regime in 1938 and imprisoned during the war), Prescott Bush was neither a Nazi nor a Nazi sympathizer.

You may be right. Just because we don't agree with * politically doesn't mean we should trash his family. We didn't like it when people went after Chelsea. We should take the high road.

21. I doubt the Bush twins are buying their dresses...
They are being donated.

Kerry's daughter's dress was quite revealing in the bright lights--but she was wearing it at an award ceremony in France. I'm sure she would have found something suitable for her father's inauguration celebration.

The exact nature of the Bush/Nazi ties can be debated at length. It could well be that Prescott was just in it for the money. But why the hell didn't end the relationship before 1942?

Let's hope the Bush girls accomplish something someday.

24. But
In the country we are striving to save, why should anyone be forced to do anything? They don't make policy. Just like Chelsea didn't.
