10. Over A Much Longer Period Of Time, Though |
|
The gulags were a holdover from the Tsarist regime. Lenin used them, so did Stalin. Stalin ran his first purge in the the first 90 days of his takeover of the top spot. So, from the late 20's to the early 50's Joe had LOTS of time to send those people.
Hitler did it in only about 8 years. So, the numbers sort of compare unfavorably. Both were maniacal scum. The Professor

|
The tsars were exiling people to labor camps in Siberia as far back as 1800. So, we're talking about the same thing, but just a difference in who started this behavior in that country.
I'm certainly not defending Stalin. Very bad man! Just that he didn't invent the camps. Germany didn't have concentration camps until Hitler came along. The Professor

21. Now that is really stupid |
|
considering that Dachau was built in 1934 (I think) to house political prisoners. The Soviets were far from Bavaria at the time, and Bavaria ended up in the US occupation Zone of Germany, post WWII And part of Auschwitz was originally an Austro-Hungarian prison, death camp activated 1942---millions of people, including SS Commandant Rudolf Hoess (who testified to this at Nuremberg), witnessed it in action. 1.5-2.5 million people were murdered there.

Freeper told me that her even more freeperish relative was taking his wife and whole passel of kids to the inauguration. And she thought that was just great.
I am an unemployed schmuck who has been trying to pick up a few bucks along the way by doing some consulting work. Among my few clients was her freeperish relative. I had done some work for him previously and had no problems. This time however he refuses to pay me for a project that required a substantial investment of time on my part. Come to find out just after he hired me he was sued by someone else for not paying an obligation in excess of $10,000. He lost and is apparently pursuing every available avenue of appeal. Seems not paying his bills has become a habit. He has substantial business interests outside the country and even with a judgment the prospects of collecting are rather dismal. My case is not a large enough for most attorneys to be interested in pursuing on anything other than an hourly basis. So basically I'm SOL.
Did I mention that this same freeperish relative totalled 3 luxury vehicles in a 12 month period and 2 of those accidents were single vehicle incidents? He's a graduate of Six Flags over Jesus and regularly hosts missionaries in his home? Another of his family members pled guilty to wire fraud in an investment scam in the past couple of years? He has enough income to invest in the construction of luxury homes (which he hopes to rent to travelers) in another country?
Freeper kind of wilted when I responded to her comments about the inauguration by commenting on her freeperish relatives priorities. Thing is they just don't get it.
Greedy f*cking b*stards.

My wingnut friend just left a message about a personal matter that he completely screwed up and which is not worth airing on the internet...but, believe you me, it leaves me wondering how this grown man, in his 40s, can be so stupid that you wonder how he remembers to keep breathing.
Whenever I get frustrated about his evil politics, I just have to remember that he really is that stupid. It really is a case of, "Father, they know not what they do."
The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists and other subversives. We intend to clean them out, even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country. --John Mitchell, US Attorney General 1969-72

28. "How much protein is in the cheese sticks?" |
|
This came after I looked up the amount of fat in the cheesesticks, and it was 29 grams.
There would never be enough protein in something to make up for 29 grams of fat. She voted for Bush because of his stance on abortion, despite an increase in the amount of abortions under his presidency.
The "How much protein is in the cheese sticks" comment explained it all!

39. "Auschwitz? Who's he?" |
|
That was his question after I mentioned Hitler's ability to easily convince the German people to kill off the Jews by sending them to camps like Dachau, Buchenwald, and Auschwitz.
I looked at him like he was a fucking idiot and walked out of the room.
And to think he used to be one of my closest friends, like a brother, until he stated: "Well, none of the dead soldiers in Iraq are related to me, so why should I care why they're over there dying?"
That one made me end the friendship.
