2. should have thought about that before going to the pet store |
|
I have some bad memories of hamsters making bizarre noises in the middle of the night. Never again.

That's the code I use with my girlfriend, but sometimes she forgets and says, "what hamster?" Doh!

4. if I'm not mistaken... |

...hamsters are nocturnal. I'd suggest you either move the cage out of your bedroom or learn to love the late night excitement.

its hers. and we did oil it. just don't use the spray oil. we wondered why it was wet for a week, until we figured out it was oiled. it got over that and is very active (at night only)!!

I tried it on my hamster and he spent all night on the toilet. Never went near the wheel.

9. Shred up a bunch of toilet paper and put it in her cage. |

It will take her awhile to accomodate it all into her bed, and maybe your daughter can fall asleep. If that doesn't work, buy some unflavored milkbones and use wire to attach it to the wall or hang it from the ceiling of her cage (make sure she can't get to any sharp ends of the wire of course). She might play with that instead of the wheel. I have two hamsters in my room, and they are both up in their cages right now. The wheels don't bother me, but one keeps squeeking because she thinks it will get her out of the cage. The other one is simply trying to jump her way out. I have a lamp on just so I can watch while I try to sleep b/c it's hilarious:-)

11. It doesn't bother me, but it is funny to listen to. |

my daughter is amused though iritated, because its in her room. We feed the hamster vegetables and grains.
No sharpies for our cage. its plastic, with lots of tubes for exploring. got to keep the hamster amused.
