My town just got its first traffic light! Those beautiful colors, the |
|
smoothness of the flow of traffic. It's glorious.
*sniff*
Excuse me. I think I'm becoming verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves.

Where do you live? Somehow I think it's so neat that we all come from such different environments.
Oh, and wait till they install the 6 lane highways and the left turn lights on all four corners of the intersection. Then you'll be cursing the 10 minutes you spend waiting for that light to turn.

4. A small (obviously) town in KY. |
|
Somehow, I doubt we'll ever have the 6-lane highways here, although a different lane for the Amish horse-and-buggy traffic would be nice.

Ours was installed a few years before I came to town. I missed all the excitement. Enjoy it while you can, my friend. Eventually you will take it for granted. :sigh:

10. While in college several years back (I'm 31), I brought a friend from "the |
|
city" home to meet my folks. In our kitchen, we still had the old wall-mount rotary phone. My citified friend took one look at it and said, jokingly, "We used to have a phone like that, until my Dad got a job." I told him it hadn't been too many years since we had gotten off a party-line.
As for electricity, we've had that for quite awhile. ;-) My grandparents still have the distinction in town for owning the first television set.
It's a small, somewhat backward town, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. :)

7. Oh NO!! This is just the beginning of the downward spiral... |
|
One side of the traffic light will be the "good side of town" and the troublemakers will live on the other side. Before you know it, you'll have a town crackwhore who hangs out on that corner.
My advice is to move... now! For god's sake... if you value your life... GET THE HELL OUT NOW!

8. Even worse - now that you have a traffic light, it's only a matter of time |
|
until you get a Wal-Mart!
