I used to love the 'Caption Game'.........
This in no way is meant as a slag to either skip, or underpants, or to the DU'ers who nobly sift through the news, finding appropriate images to caption.

I love you all very dearly.

But the truth is, fact is stranger...and in most cases of Bush captions....funnier than fiction.

Now whenever I see a 'Caption This' that features the smirking chimp, the only things I can think of are things that he has actually said. There's no reason to try and make anything up. It's impossible to come up with anything more stupid or more funny than the things that he actually says.

I realize that this is my problem. I'm having some kind of captioning writer's block. Maybe I've lost the funny.

Have a great day and please continue to caption.

1. Fact is stranger than fiction
It is still fun to goof on them if only for my own mental comic relief. I agree with everything you said (I have been getting the same feelings) and no offense is taken.

2. Like when that daily calendar of Bushisms came out a few years back...
When I realized how dangerous and radical a man he was, ridiculing him for his malapropisms, etc just seemed to be missing the mark somehow.

That said, I still enjoy seeing the photos here, in a probe-the-hurting-tooth kind of way. He is a remarkably unphotogenic person, and the camera always catches something revealing.

3. After the election my urge to caption has suffered, probably
because looking at four more years of this disaster doesn't exactly give me a case of the irrepressible yucks. But one must continue to mock this simian bastard. It's important. Aren't you the king of the "pull my finger" captions?

4. That is because we have all embarked on a strange journey
into the Twilight Zone.

This is by far the strangest times I have experienced in my life. Only, I am having a bit of trouble with the humor part lately.

5. I do a photo-cartoon every day
And I have to admit, I was looking forward to Bush getting his ass kicked so I wouldn't have to do it anymore. But after he won, it really took the wind out of my sails. I was so depressed I didn't think I could keep it up. But my rage came back and now I'm doing it every day again. Don't lose the hate!

6. I don't know...
...they seem to make the day's news slightly less unbearable to me. I'll take whatever relief I can get.
