From Chick tracts: take the opportunity to tell kids God punishes gays
4) Seize the "evening news opportunity." When watching the news you will see periodic items where homosexuals demand their "rights."

That is exactly the moment to obey Deuteronomy 6:7. Make a comment about how God handled the homosexuals of Sodom and Gomorrah who demanded their rights.

He expressed His opinion with fire from heaven!

Or sadly wonder how long before God handles our society's fornication (sexual sin) the way He did that of the Jews who "rose up to play" while Moses was on Mt. Sinai.

While those people were dying, their sin didn't look cute or attractive! You can't disobey God without paying a price. Parents, We Must Teach!

We must never allow our children to see sin as a light thing but continually remind them of God's point of view.

We may not be able to stop other people from doing the things they do, but we don't have to let them do it in our living rooms!

And our continual sense of outrage that people do these things will help protect our children from the awesome pressure to imitate.

We must never let them forget: God keeps records!

1. somebody needs to remind this asshole
"That is exactly the moment to obey Deuteronomy 6 . Make a comment about how God handled the homosexuals of Sodom and Gomorrah who demanded their rights.

He expressed His opinion with fire from heaven! "

If this is what he believes, he needs to remember what his god told Lot to do. Stay and try to change things? No, what he said was to GET OUT!!

If this asswad really believes he is Lot in the "land of Sodom and Gomorrah" then by all means, he needs to pack up his weak assed shit and bail!

9. That's an excellent point, GTRMAN
Thanks for posting it. I've never taken that particular tact when arguing the issue with fundies, but I think I'll add it to the arsenal. :)

22. I have a family full of them
I am always happy to tell them to pack their shit and get the hell out of my country if they aren't happy living in a free society. :)

26. Must be rough
I thought my family was a fairly conservative religious family when I was growing up, but they kind of grew out of it. When I was a kid (80s) I think they aligned themselves with certain conservative religious people (buying Dobson's books on child-rearing, listening to Dr. Laura) because they were very naive about the real agenda of these people. In the past 15 years they've had to learn to distinguish between someone who claims christianity and someone whose christian worldview actually matches their own. Fortunately, they've rejected most of the wing-nuts for what they are. :)

But your approach certainly sounds appropriate. After all, right-wing christians are the ones who really hate america. Certainly their ideals of america are much different than mine, anyway.

27. It's not too bad
most of the real nuts are the in-laws. I don't know how my wife managed to come from that bunch and have the liberal viewpoint she does.

My family is pretty much Southern Baptist, but they don't seem to go off the deep end like her family does. In fact, my Dad has gotten pretty liberal in his old age. But then again, he's a hardcore union man, so he never was able to stomach a lot of what the far right touts.

2. Jack Chick is HILARIOUS!!!
It's damn near impossible to take any of his tracts seriously, they're so over the top.

I quite like his one about the evils of Catholicism. That one slayed me. If you really want a good larf, be sure to visit his website: www.chick.com.

12. I love Chick publications! I used to collect them!
...and I never had to seek them out. They were always left on bus seats, inside public library books, or waiting lounge magazines. The element of surprise was particularly thrilling, and I'm sure the people who planted them got a charge out of anticipating someone finding them.
I did start getting some handed to me and some others hidden in my things when I became more out. I considered that a great compliment!

I LOVE Chick tracts. They are among the funniest things ever.
His one about "Allah the Moon god" is a riot, but the best was the one with the teacher in a public school and darwinism

I'm just about to read the one about Abdul Ali coming home from Mecca and dying in a plane crash.

Anybody who knows the tiniest bit about Arabic names or Islam can tell right away that this thing is gonna be filled with laughable inaccuracies just by the title! :D

There is an accompanying essay in which the former head of a satanic cult talks about how D and D designers sat down and learned real black magic to put in their games

Isn't he a human being?! Doesn't he have the right to believe as he wants? And it's not like he's screaming in your face; he's just publishing these little cartoons. It's his right under the U.S. Constitution! Enough is enough!

His campy little tracts just BEG to be laughed at. It's like laughing at Jan Crouch's pink Loni Anderson wigs.

No shit. I was among the worst proselytizers. :shame:

But then, fundies have their mandate, because Jesus did say "go ye unto all the world" and preach the gospel. They can't help what they are -- they're brainwashed. Some of us are lucky enough to escape.
