Question for you Mac computer experts. |
|
Actually two questions. 1. Since I converted my computer (G4) over to OSX, my external hard drive shows the date for all files created as December 31, 1903. That includes any zip discs as well. The date on my computer is correct and it doesn't seem to effect my internal HD. Any idea how to fix that?
2. How do I change the default so all files show as file names instead of icons?

Go into the Finder
Pull down the View menu
With the window in question open, click on "As List"

3. When I change the Documents folder to As List |
|
all folders that are in there at the time the change occurs are switched. New ones that come in later from other people have the view option set by their creator and have to be switched manually.

4. But there's no way to set it for everything on your computer? |
|
So every folder will open as a list? It's one thing about OSX that drives me nuts.
