10. I've never had a moving violation in my LIFE |
|
So I was quite upset about it... now I'm just upset.
I hope that fact has some merit with the judge when I throw myself at his/her mercy.

if you go to the judge and plead poverty and remorse, usually they will lower the ticket and let you make payments, or even wipe it entirely. but you must have insurance when you go to court.

15. In higher insurance rates, mostly |
|
My son got one of those 3 years ago. He had no vehicle and didn't drive, so had no insurance. He was test driving a truck for a day and the guy said it was insured. He got stopped for speeding or something, and the cop said he'd do him a favor and just give him a no insurance ticket. Well yeah, that ticket is cheaper than a speeding ticket here. But it also automatically requires an SR-22 filing in Oregon, which doubled his insurance for the last 3 years. Hope your state doesn't stick that one on you. :(

I was soooooo nervous... I lied. :scared:
I don't know why I did it... but I told him I did have insurance and that I just didn't have the proof... I guess I was hoping he'd just ticket me for out of date registration (by 14 days, which was why he pulled me over), but no... he also ticketed me for not having proof of ins.
I'm a dumbass.

I'll probably do that... except the reeeeeeealy sucky part is that I had only put off the insurance because of money, and was planning on going by there last night after work, but I had to make another stop on the way, and was too late.
Oh, the pain... if only I'd done it last night, I'd have only a $10 fine to worry about.
I need a smiley that smacks itself in the head.

No no no. Don't do that. If you've got extenuating financial circumstances, tell the judge that. But don't say you thought you had insurance, unless that's what you really thought.

he just left the date on the binder blank. I filled it in. The fine in Michigan fro driving without ins is 500.00. But if you go down and show proof, the ticket is dismissed.

You really think you're the first person to lie to a cop?? Natch, forget about it. If you can get this stuff taken care of before you go to court, that would be good. Then you can just go in and say "I'm a dumbass". My husband has always said there should be an "I'm stupid" plea.
In the future though, I do think the rule is "don't talk to cops, but if you do, ALWAYS tell the truth."

The cop would rather have you than me! I have never had a moving violation either. I got stopped and the cop said I was speeding. I was not speeding goddammit. Anyway, I was just making a quick run to the store and didn't bring my purse, no driver's license. I was in my son's car, yeah that one, and couldn't find the registration or insurance. But he did have it, honest. So there I am, no NOTHING. Totally freaking out. And the cop decides to lecture me about DRIVING. Oh fuck that, I have NEVER had an accident, ticket, NOTHING. Finally I says to him, "arrest me, write a ticket, or I'm leaving". I suspect nobody had ever threatened to drive away on him before. He runs some sort of check and then comes back and let's me go.
So yeah, I bet your little lie was nothing considering what they usually have to put up with!

Can barely do a load of laundry.
I talk to nobody at work, and it can get very lonely.
I'm in a job where I'm reamed for making a mistake. Not only am I prone to that, the material is difficult and glitchy.
And I'm thinking I might have to end a long-term relationship, the thought of which is destroying me.
On the bright side........

91. Cluster headaches do suck. |
|
I suffered from them for ages. I finally went to a neurologist who put me on enough steroids to choke a horse and the headaches went away. I know I was very lucky - not everyone with clusters will respond to medication. I still get occasional twinges, but they are very short-lasting and respond to high doses of ibuprofen. Now I have to concentrate on trying to lose the weight I put on while on the steroids, but that is a relatively minor problem.

I have a decent job I'm starting (plus job another per diem), I'm about ready to file for divorce and get a decent financial settlement (legally anyway, things are going smoothly and amicably). I have been waiting months and months for all of this to come together and I'm almost there. Basically, the main difficultly is just these last few weeks is just the waiting (but keeping busy helps pass the time), so I can be free to start to move forward with my life.
A lot of the heavy duty emotional stuff I've already processed. My ex still has a lot to process and it's pretty difficult for him to do it with me under the same roof- hence much stress and tension. It's just time.

76. My left wrist and elbow |
|
I was in a cast for 4 months with three surgeries in between. My muscles and tendons in my hand, wrist and elbow are now atrophied. My HMO only allows 16 physical therapy visits per fiscal year, (June - July) and I've already used 6 just to get my finger to move alittle. I'm out of the cast (THANK GOD!) but now I have to wear a long arm splint at all times except for 6 - 8 hours a days when I have to be in a brace that I think the devil himself designed. It forces my wrist into "supination" (If I never hear that word again when this all ends it will be too soon) It forces my wrist to turn slowly and at different pressures. I'm only on 1 and cry when I take it off after an hour. And it goes to 9! I'll be in this god forsaken thing for at least 4 months. Sorry for my ranting....but you did ask. :)

One book shipped just fine today, but the other book is horrendous - the back matter isn't finished being paged, the pagination memo and book map aren't done, and it's supposed to ship to the printer today. Ha. Were it not for my sweet spouse and DU, I'd be crying right now...

87. I didn't learn to drive until I was 27 |

Two months after I got my license I drove across the country by myself. I didn't kill anything and haven't done so yet.
I learned to drive in Brooklyn of all places---A totally crazy place to drive let alone learn how to drive.
I was very afraid too-- Find a good driving instructor. Don't have friends or family help you. It's well worth the money.
The freedom driving allows you is worth the price. You don't need to own a car or drive every day but it's a great skill to have.

First of all, Khephra died. That sucks.
My health sucks, and I have no health insurance.
I have a sinus infection right now. This one is horrendous, and I should be in the hospital getting IV antibiotics. There's lots of pain, occasional torrents of blood, nausea, fever, more pain, dizziness, concomittant ear infections, and now the infection is spreading to the orbits of my eyes. The oral antibiotics haven't kicked in yet.
Most of this is from my "bad ear" which has been operated on a few times to remove tumors and suchlike. I'm almost entirely deaf in that ear (the left one), and now the hearing is going in the other ear.
The pain is bad enough that my ability to think clearly is shot. Today is unusual in that I have been able to post coherently -- gave up trying to do that several weeks ago.
I also have some kind of long-term infection that nobody has been able to place, like CFIDS or ME but with more pain and less fatigue than is customary with those illnesses. And you know, with illnesses, everything interacts.
I haven't had full-time regular work since about a month after 9/11/01. I used to work as a programmer at a big pharmaceutical house. You can guess where that job went.
I've been applying for disability benefits. I'd rather work, but that's pretty much out of the question until I can get some medical treatment. But it's only my first time applying, and it almost always takes three tries. The fact that I can program a computer will certainly slow it down ... "you're able to work ... just move to China, ya deadbeat!"
And I am likely to be single until I die, too.
I know other people are worse off than me, but this just sucks. I suppose I'm in good company.

What's sucking really bad is I locked my keys in my car about 3 hours ago. I haven't done shit like this in 20 friggin years! Dumbass. So I'm sitting here waiting for someone to bring me my extra set of keys, he should be here in about an hour.

Well I don't hate my job so much as some of the people I work with. Is it bad to dread going into work and having a constant stomache ache or head ache????
I also didn't get a job a recently interviewed for which would have taken me away from all this.
