"Rethuglican Parking Values" (a window into their shrivelled souls) |
|
Friday follies:
This morning, I was trying to park in a shopping center lot, where only 2 spaces were left; these were adjacent. The car ahead of me, a Jag bearing a bumper sticker reading "Friends Don't Let Friends Vote Democratic" pulled into the CENTER of the 2 spaces = NO ONE ELSE CAN PARK!!! but their car is "protected" (translation: Only me and my car count; everyone else is screwed")
As the driver gets out, I'm sitting in stunned silience witnessing all this. But, I recovered in time to roll down my window and say "So, is that an example of Republican parking values"? The woman looked stunned, then laughed embarassedly and said "I'll move it" which she did so that the other space was useable.
I bit my tongue to keep from saying anything else, such as "That's the first time I've ever seen a Republican remedy their mistake" or similar.
Doesn't this little episode just epitomize their selfishness and greed???

stunned that she didn't flip you the bird. People who take up two spaces usually don't give a rat's ass what anybody thinks.

A woman in a Mercedes SUV (with a private prep school bumper sticker) wheeled into two spaces at an angle so that no one else could park there. Of course these were two spaces right up next to the stores. I, in my little car, tried to pull in but couldn't. She saw me but did not care. My dad had Porsches. We'd park in two spaces on the far outskirts of a parking lot where there were no other cars and no one was offended by this. I also hate the college kids with huge trucks and SUVs who park in the "small car" spaces. Arghh! One can not open one's doors when hemmed in by a huge vehicle in a small space.
edit: I couldn't say anything to the woman because the prep school is a very big client.

Just a simple question. At least she had the dignity to be shamed.

6. I still celebrate the day I saw a hummer parked in 2 spaces |
|
and I parked in the remainder of the driver's side space about 2 inches from the hummer's door. That felt really good. The lot wasn't even close to full. :)

With his wheelchair bound wife and some moron had taken the handicapped space. He parked right behind the car and stayed gone for almost 2 hours.
When he finally returned the people were out there fuming. He's a good sized guy, and just kept talking about inconsiderate assholes who park in handicapped spaces. They didn't say a word.

I would have probably written her a note about her selfishness-- on the hood of her car with my key.
Nice move!

No. To me, it illustrates an individual's either thoughtlessness or failure to pay attention.
